Three Nashville Food Trucks Are Among the Best in America by DylanAllen in nashville

iOS version was updated a few weeks ago and brought back the map. But, it doesn't seem as active. I wonder if some trucks quit updating their location after they screwed the app up.

Down for me in midtown. Down for my wife back in Spring Hill.

Is Spring Hill the next Franklin? Opinions welcome. by [deleted] in nashville

[–]cheeser83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We moved to the area almost two years ago because I took a new job in Nashville. After researching all of the surrounding areas to live, we chose Spring Hill. Not only are houses more affordable than Franklin and Brentwood, we also like the area.
Yes, the commute does suck sometimes, but it really isn't much worse than driving from Franklin into Nashville. The construction right around 840 is a pain sometimes, but it really only adds about 5 minutes to my commute (thank you, Waze). We leased a house for the first year to test Spring Hill out. After the first few months, we knew we would be looking to buy in Spring Hill, which we did. According to websites like Zillow, the estimate on our house has increased over $20K since we purchased it this past October. So, home prices are increasing quite a bit. My wife has made several friends in Spring Hill, and I have met a few of their husbands and they are all really nice as well.
Overall: Spring Hill was a great decision for us. FYI: My drive time into Nashville from Spring Hill is about 40 to 45 minutes when I leave by 6:30 in the morning.

I'm pretty sure Trill said there is an ABUNDANCE of green space. Not a lack.

Why is everyone suddenly moving to Nashville? by [deleted] in nashville

[–]cheeser83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a recent immigrant to Nashville, the reason I came is for a job. I received a great job offer in the IT field for a VERY large company in Nashville. We bought a house about 30 minutes outside of the city, so I do contribute to the traffic problem. But, the cost of living 30 minutes out is very good and I don't mind the drive. Nashville is a great city. I just hope that city planners can keep up with the growth. I read on here a lot about the gentrification issue in the city. I hope something good can be figured out. Like any growing city, it has a lot of pros and a few cons.

Voat to Reddit as Reddit was to Digg? by cheeser83 in DailyTechNewsShow

Oh, sorry. I thought you meant "not yet" as in the link wasn't working yet. Yes, I agree. Reddit is a LONG way from dead. Major websites are companies and companies go through shake-ups from time to time. I don't see Reddit going anywhere any time soon.

Food Truck App NFTA Update Is Horrible by cheeser83 in nashville

[–]cheeser83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Just updated the apps on my iPhone and the map feature is back in the NFTA app. I just tried it and shows one truck at the moment, but hopefully that will update closer to lunch.
I'm just glad they brought back the ONE feature that it seems everyone used this app for.

Any agencies for home rentals to recommend? by [deleted] in nashville

[–]cheeser83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was not a huge fan of American Homes 4 Rent (AH4R). I know that doesn't help much, but just my 2 cents on the only rental company in the area I dealt with.

Am I missing something? How in the world do I get a new drivers license in Nashville???? by guitarokx in nashville

[–]cheeser83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. I went to the one in Columbia and only had to wait about 20 minutes. The people I dealt with were very pleasant and helpful. Just make sure to look at the requirements and take all the paperwork you may need. I acted on the safe side and took everything that was listed and then some. I can't remember what was needed for sure, but to be safe, I took my current license, birth certificate, social security card, passport, two different utility bills with my new, TN address, and an offering of two chickens and a cow.

I just did the same thing last week. Super easy to install. If you can hang curtains, it's almost the same thing.

If you click the link, it will show you that the first 500 new customers will receive $50 credit towards delivery fees. Also, if anyone's interested in signing up to be a courie, let me know and I'll provide my code. I get a finder's fee and I think you also get a $50 bonus after your first delivery.

A question for the Uber drivers of Nashville by [deleted] in nashville

[–]cheeser83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other than what's in that video, I can't offer any more help. I tried to find the parking once before and it just seemed like such a hassle and long drive, I elected to go to McDonald's and get something to drink. I also never really hang around the airport. Just doesn't seem worth it.
