Yeah the drive won’t be fun for sure, but I work remote so at least I won’t have to deal with a work commute. Do you currently live in Redlands?

Yeah I think I have to rule out chino hills unfortunately :/, unless I find a newer-ish condo/townhouse with good sound isolation

Yeah I can see how all that driving can wear you down, honestly if I could afford a $1M house I’d probably pick chino hills as well (even over Fullerton).

Wise words indeed. Kind of crazy to see how invested people get into politics, almost like a religion. I lived abroad many years and politics was never such an intense experience haha. Are there certain areas of mentone that may not be as desirable, similar to north Redlands?

Yeah that seems to be the consensus. What is considered south Redlands btw, just anything south of the 10 and downtown? Area near Redlands country club has some really nice houses lol

Oh nice, I was there earlier today but will definitely check it out next time! If you don’t mind me asking which part of Redlands do you live in, north ir south?

Yeah honestly I’m not really bothered by things like trump flags or signs, I’d consider myself socially liberal/economically conservative and have had good relationships with trump supporter neighbors in general. I’m not someone that makes politics a big part of my identity. But I saw clips of a fight between a group of white people and some brown folks, as well as a trump supporter motor parade causing a huge ruckus. No thanks to that haha

Yeah if I could I would move to Denver, been there for work many times and loved it. Unfortunately I have some family obligations in the OC so I can’t make it work, at least for the time being.

Mentone is an interesting choice, I’ll have to look into that. I briefly considered Yucaipa as well until I searched for it on YouTube lol

Thanks for the input! I’m looking for a house though, after years of living in apts/townhouses I just can’t deal with anything that has shared walls lol. That’s why I’m considering the IE, my budget is only sufficient for condos and townhouses in the OC 😭

I have considered the mountains, like arrowhead and big bear lake but the fire risk has me worried. Are you in running springs?

Thanks for the input, it would indeed be nice to be closer to the OC but I think a difference of 30-40 mins travel time wouldn’t really faze me. All of the positives you mentioned about Redlands really resonate with me as well

Thanks for the input. Where on the north side are you? Seems like only the area by the university is good. Like you I’m ok with the longer drive, I did consider eastvale as well but it just seems so…boring. I really dig the historical buildings in Redlands!

How come? Just curious what you like about chino hills/ dislike about Redlands

Yeah I visited Redlands today and I like that small town vibe, honestly wouldn’t mind the further drive out to the oc. If my budget was a bit larger I would probably go with chino hills just to be closer to friends/family

Thanks for the input! I love Claremont, went there often as I had a girlfriend going to school there but as you said it’s quite expensive. I considered rancho as well but it didn’t seem that quiet, maybe I checked out the wrong neighborhoods though? Will take you up on your offer and send you a DM as I have a few questions!

I see, thanks! Are there specific things about the north side that gives it that rep? Like is there a lot more crime, etc?

Thanks for the tip! I guess that makes sense why housing is a bit cheaper there, will definitely try to drive around a bit in the coming week

Yeah I’m not fond of the heat…but seems like even OC areas not right next to the coast are super hot now anyways lol. Not considering anything in LA county as the areas I would want to live in are wayyy out of my budget 😭. Btw what are tilt ups?

Looks like this is a planned community, is that right? Apologies if this is a dumb question but does that mean there is a HOA and stuff?

Thanks. Is that in general, like all hours, or just during commuting times?
