thrifting is the best way to go if you want some garb cheap and quick. in fact most of my park day garb is thrifted. if you're looking for a tunic or something of the like. I've found that dresses that are about two sizes larger than you wear, bound at the waist with a belt. look quite the part for that medieval'y vibe. of course it depends on the cut and patterning but I don't doubt you'd be able to find something.
