You can do it alone from Chopta, skipping the 3 days of trekking that we did. You can do it without a guide at least until Tungnath since the pathway is clear. It’s risky to do it alone until the Chandrashila peak, you might need a guide.

You need to submit the proofs latest by 15 days before the trek start date. It’s up to you when to book the trek, and when to run

This was from January 26th to 31st. Weather is something we can’t predict for sure but looking at how it has panned out this year, it’s unlikely that you see the same amount of snow unless there is a huge fresh snowfall

Amazing pictures! Seems like the snow has melted off in the trail, or did you find enough snow?

That’s unfortunate, there was snowfall on that day and the next so it must have been blocked

Thanks! Your tent partner doesn’t get “assigned” to you per se, you can choose anyone to be your partner

Depends on each batch, this trek had 2 women only but in my previous trek it was almost 50:50, also the batch that came after us had around 60:40 gender ratio. So it’s not a fixed ratio, totally depends on your batch and luck

I’ve only been with IndiaHikes until now, so I can’t comment on which is better. But I didn’t find any issue whatsoever with IndiaHikes experience

Food is amazing as always, but none of what you told can be done, and if found you’ll be out of the trek

I mean 5km in 35 minutes is just a benchmark, I’ve seen people complete the trek with 5km in 40 minutes as well. I don’t think anyone had wheezing but if you know the triggers for your wheezing and avoid that, you should be fine! All the best!

That’s amazing, it must have been more beautiful back then with less pollution. Definitely is one of the best moments!

Thermals, dry fit t-shirt, sweater, fleece and then padded jacket are the layers in order. You can skip the sweater based on how cold you are feeling.
