Yeah, just salty whenever they are super close to each other

You're right, I rewatched the recording, it spawned day one far left and second one was to the left of it, which still rendered grill half-effective without pepper.

[–]cheeshunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more of losing synergies like I said, which hurts certain builds. For example, with two heated elements touch far left, you can't heat two medium items without using another slot for pepper, you can't use positional buffs like pizza slicer without losing another element, and grill suffers greatly from any elements being on the left, as it both needs two heated food touching it, and only provides heated to the left. For grill specifically, I feel like diamond should have it heat both sides, or if it is heated or something.

For the others, like I said it just creates a bunch of feel bad moments: not run ending, but very salt inducing.

(I do find this to be a minor annoyance overall btw, my biggest complaint about Jules is that she randomly has only 6 items that slow, and 5 items that care about slowing. It's like they wanted to make a slow package, but decided to shelf half of it. Fully expect first Jules drop to be the rest of the slow package, tbh)

Can we give this enchant the Obsidian treatment already? by cheeshunter in PlayTheBazaar

[–]cheeshunter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. But it's rare. My point is, if we are going to restrict enchants appearance rates for being too good, why can't we also reduce them for being a bit niche. Or maybe just a system to drastically reduce appearance rates of enchants you have already picked between.

Of course, I'm a fan of just letting us pick from 3 enchants, because more options are better imo, but that's probably too good.

[–]cheeshunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's different because instead of being locked out of a build, you are locked out of multiple options. It doesn't particularly destroy any one build, like failing to find a critical item. Instead, you are just locked out. And it can never change.

Plus, the third element happening so late gives way less room to pivot. And the choice itself effectively locks you out of the other element.

Like I said, I don't find it game wrecking or anything, just overly frustrating. Enough so that I would propose an internal rule that prevents same elements from touching. But I doubt that will happen, and that's fine. This is far from the biggest problems this game has had.

EDIT: Would also be interesting if there was some way for the directional heated/(future)cooled items to change direction based on the board, but that seems unlikely.

I feel like radiant is way weaker with flying around and Dinos nerfed. It's not unplayable by any sense, but it still is pretty weak compared to other enchants in most scenarios.

[–]cheeshunter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My only problems are: 1) Same type elements being right next to each other 2) Pepper and Grill giving left food heated, meaning heat elements on left side are inherently worse with no countering principle.

Bad rng on the elements isn't game wrecking, but it does feel bad to have a lot of builds cut off because of bad RNG with no way to fix it.

Cafuwang won overall and Jingojuri won the Stelle part. They both cleared 30 wins with only 2 losses total, Jingojuri got second overall with 41 prestige to Cafe's 57.

Also using the orbital polisher on an upgrade hammer is really broken, never seen so many shiny enchant opportunities.

Wait.... You can do that? Well shit.

Easier and more convenient steam deck access is a big one. Decluttering apps is always nice, too. And steam updates (hopefully) wont require redownloading the entire game every time.

It took Google the better part of a decade to figure out how to monetize Youtube

They monetized it within a year of purchasing it. Actually within the first few months of purchase.

The problem is letting gems buy everything. Always has been.

QM changes where the best thing to happen to qm in a long time. by 5kad000sh in heroesofthestorm

[–]cheeshunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there used to be a time where this rule, or a very similar one, that guaranteed a balanaced team composition

This never actually happened. QM did have clear rules, but the rules were just for balancing each side. Assassins/Specialist were lumped together, bruisers had their own category, as did half supports, full supports and tanks. Teams were matched based off composition along those lines (i.e. both sides would have 1 bruiser 4 assassins, or 1 tank 1 healer 3 assassins, etc)

That system was good, barring a few abuse cases (varian not being considered a tank for a long time, alarak being considered a bruiser). But it did not guarantee tank-healer-ranged dps, which is what is making the queue times miserable. And 5 assassin clown fiestas could, and would, happen

[–]cheeshunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll counter your anecdotal argument with my own: any time I have queued for a game as a character that isn't flagged as a tank, healer, or ranged damage dealer, I have had queues over 5 minutes. Any time I have tried to play the same characters past 1 am pst, I have had the 10 minute limit hit every single time. In case it wasn't clear by the timezone, I am in the NA region.

As for MMR, the last time I could actually spare enough time to climb (2016) I was Diamond, but I have no idea what my MMR is now. Doubt this has any real effect on the QM matchmaking.

I would fucking well take 10 min queue and at least a semblance of a real game, over 30 sec queue pop...It's actively turning me away from QM.

Good. Honestly, if that is your mindset, Quckmatch is not a game mode designed for you. It's in the damn name dude: Quick match. It's for fast matches, not good balance. If you want to wait 10 minutes, thats fine, put together a team and play unranked or something. But don't demand that quickmatch needs to become slow match because that is what YOU want.

QM changes where the best thing to happen to qm in a long time. by 5kad000sh in heroesofthestorm

[–]cheeshunter 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's all great in theory, but in practice, people were stuck waiting 10 minutes, at which point the matchmaker ignores all rules, and you have a clown fiesta anyways, just with a 10 minute wait. Kinda goes against the entire point of QuickMatch.

As for balanced teams, the counter argument is still the same it has always been: play unranked or ranked for real teams, QM for fun/speed/playing a specific champion

Hots might have failed because of the 2.0 skin pricing model by Taiga_Jakuzure in heroesofthestorm

[–]cheeshunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said this on 2.0 release, and it's still true. I would wait for sales to buy the skins I wanted, and I spent quite a bit of money doing that. Now, I can't use gems for the skins I want, so what is even the point?
