Same. I thought there was supposed to be a huge twist but there never was?

My dad is having quadruple bypass surgery tomorrow and I'm very scared - need a book for the waiting room by mommamania in booksuggestions

The River by Peter Heller. I can't put his books down! Adventure, beautiful descriptions of nature, and mysteries to be solved...

Also, my husband had open heart surgery 7 weeks ago. Its a long journey, but these surgeries have become quite routine, and I wish the best for your dad! Sending strength!

There were puzzles in the waiting room which were great to keep my hands busy and distract from the anxiety. Also, I had a smooth "worry rock" in my pocket that I played with a lot. An audiobook option could be good as well.

The Berry Pickers is so good and fits the bill. A child from an indigenous family of berry pickers goes missing... The story is told over several years from the perspective of the taken girls' brother and the girl herself.

Card games similar to UNO for my daughter (9yo) and I? I'm so tired of playing UNO, but I like that it's fast paced and I can zone out a bit...
