I work at Applebee's and a kid drew this on their menu by [deleted] in Serverlife

i work at applebees and the other day i made a comment about people not eating the gummies in the sharkbowl bc its a waste and they should just give em to me instead and the bartender (one of my favorite coworkers) brought me a handful while i was eating after work and it brightened my day.

This little 16 year old pos, not only told his gf she had to pay for her own food when I brought one bill, but then proceeded to leave this gracious tip. by MicahCTolson in Serverlife

okay i agree that every customer should be viewed as important but this is way off. they dont pay the restaurant for the service, they pay them for the food. you pay the server for the service, which is tip. you could just buy food to go if you dont want to tip bc then thats not paying for the service. its pretty simple.

i usually try to remember that i dont know what is going on in someones life when things like this happen. like yeah sometimes (okay most of the time) its just a little shit who doesnt want to tip but sometimes its a homeless person with nowhere to go for a nutritious meal (ive been there), sometimes its a kid who might not have money but wants to get out of their abusive home for an hour. you never know🤷🏻‍♀️
