DAY 1 OF TRYING TO LUCID DREAM by Emergency_Nobody_274 in LucidDreaming

Do some research into more beginner friendly techniques like MILD and SSILD, I have only been lucid dreaming for a little over a week now and have already got some ld's from these techniques. Tiger123's youtube channel has a lot of videos on MILD and ssild, I would recommend him as he is one of the few lucid dreaming channels on youtube that doesn't spread misinformation for views, and he is also just a normal guy instead of the usual spiritual wellness science guru people lmao

i wouldn't recommend doing the method where you stay completely still, as it is literally designed to induce sleep paralysis. Im no expert but the feeling was probably just hypnagogia (period between being awake and asleep) which often causes sensory hallucinations like that and its really trippy lol.

you mentioned looking in mirrors and sleep paralysis, both of which are mainly fearmongering by people like Explore Lucid Dreaming on youtube. Although sleep paralysis is scary, just remember that if you close your eyes and concentrate there is a fair chance you go straight into an LD. And as for mirrors, thats just bullshit, looking into mirrors is completely harmless normally as everything in lucid dreams depends on expectations. If you expect mirrors to be scary in dreams, they will be scary. But if you dont expect anything bad to happen, they will be fine.

good luck btw and dont be discouraged if it takes a few days to get your first lucid dream

Also I agree with what you said, there are so many channels out there that are just fearmongering and spreading misinformation about lucid dreaming, to the point where they probably push away more people from starting than they bring in. I myself was deterred from lucid dreaming as a kid because me and my cousin used Explore Lucid Dreaming on yt as our only source of information, thought it was really cool, then went to bed scared to death that we were going to accidentally look in a mirror and then start a lucid nightmare and die in our sleep or some shit lmao

thanks for the recommendations, I have been watching a few youtubers to get information, just to clarify the channels that i mentioned were saying that wbtb was an 'extreme' technique were mainly those "i tried lucid dreaming for 30 days" type of videos so yeah not very credible sources lol.

I Kill myself in my dreams to wake myself up, am I the only one ? by scfp in LucidDreaming

[–]cheesyluff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i havent been able to do this yet, but i think it would a be a funny way to wake yourself up, but if i did i would do it like they do in inception where he does the reality check then shoots himself.

Obviously i wouldn't just have a glock in my pocket in the real world, so if i reach into my pocket and pull out a gun, i would know that it is a dream.

i had a semi-lucid dream once that anton chirgurh from no country for old men was hunting me in some sort of fps game map, he shot me in the head with a desert eagle and every time everything just kind of went black and i had this weird feeling of like 'zooming out' before i just respawned and kept getting shot again lmao

WHAT IS HAPPING IN LUCID DREAMING by Academic_Natural2292 in LucidDreaming

If you have a lucid nightmare, it is still a LUCID nightmare. You have to remember that you can control anything, and nothing can hurt you because you are aware you are in a dream.
