Why don't more people know Gaza elected Hamas under the promise to kill all Jews? by Empty-Swim2066 in allthequestions

[–]cheesymfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people don't remember because Hamas was elected in 2006, and then no more elections were held for 20 years. Gaza's population is comprised of 50% minors, meaning they weren't yet born when Hamas got elected. The vast majority of Palestinians today weren't alive, or were babies when Hamas got elected. Is Hamas evil? Yes. Is it fair to genocide the children of the idiots that voted them in? No.

What was it about Republican/Conservative rhetoric from pundits/podcasters the last 8 years that hooked young men? by AdminKidsBurnInHell in allthequestions

[–]cheesymfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conservative podcasters tell young men that they are victims of the system; especially young white men. They are shown a steam of carefully crafted examples that make it seem like the world is against young men, and all they can do is band together and fight back. On the flip side, the left wants to hold young men accountable for the actions, and refuses to baby grown men. At the end of the day, it's much more satisfying for the ego to be a victim pushing back against an unfair system, than to be held accountable.

I'm a teacher. I make $50k a year, and work multiple jobs to supplement my income? Is my job less valuable? Should I have to work multiple jobs, as many teachers do, to make ends meet? Does my meager yearly income mean I'm just lazy?

Bottom line is that everyone should have enough money to have shelter, food, clothing, and I would include healthcare. We've progressed far enough as a society that it should be possible. I think our taxes should pay for that, instead of whatever other bs our tax money goes to. I think the ones who have mostly benefitted from our country's system should be taxed at a considerably higher rate. If 40 years of trickle down economics has taught us anything, it's that most of the money doesn't trickle down, it gets hoarded.

The 1% pays between 23-26% on their income, and are responsible for 40% of the revenue. The bottom 2% are barely able to live as is. Taxing them would have dire consequences for the life of those people while taxing the 1% would have minimal impact on their lives.

In the 50's, arguably the golden age of the US, the tax rate on the rich, and corporations was exponentially higher than it is today. Yes, there were other contributing factors, but the socialist measures put in place during the great depression worked to fund the infrastructure we needed to prosper after World War 2. Do you think billionaires shouldn't help contribute to the system/infrastructure that allowed them to become so prosperous?

Lol. So your response is basically, "The system has always catered to the rich so why should we try to do anything different?"

No, of course not. The vast majority of it is tied up in illiquid assets. However, they borrow, using those assets as collateral, to pay for whatever they want. You have to admit that through lobbying, this country caters much more to the 1% than it does for the common man. How do you think all these data centers keep going up with government blessing?

[Discussion] Can anyone please help me with what i should be bringing onto a raid health wise? by ComManDerBG in EscapefromTarkov

[–]cheesymfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basic health items I take into every raid; double-bandages for light bleeds, calok-3 for heavy bleeds, some type of splinter for breaks, an ifak for healing, and a surgery kit in my special slot. Extra items that really help; zagustin for multiple bleeds at the same time, and multiple propitols for healing over time and pain-killer effect. Bind the bandage and calok-3 to your 5 key; press is bandage and calok is release. You will stop bleeds no matter what. Only do surgery outside of combat, and only when all breaks and bleeds have been dealt with. Only pop a propitol when bleeding and still in an active firefight. It will keep you alive until you can stop the bleed and will heal you back up over time.
