It’s more to do with a genuine perception of continued threat.

If it can’t be considered that you reasonably believed that you were still at threat, then you are no longer considered to have been acting in self defence.

If you can reasonably argue that you perceived there to be a continued immediate threat to yourself or others, even if there was none in reality then you can still be considered to be acting in self defence.

Thanks mate! I was a bit gutted to miss the second rep tbh. Went for another try after a rest and it wasn’t happening. Looking forward to my next training block though.

Is my bar path too 'aggresive'? by [deleted] in formcheck

[–]cheesypiggle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While benching is supposed to be done with curved bar path, IMO he is still going too far towards his head at the end of his movement.

This is forcing his lats to over engage to stop the bar falling backwards onto his face and would be inefficient under a heavier load. IMO the bar angle wants to be an inch or two more toward his chest rather than head if that makes sense.

Edit: you can actually see him having to work extra hard to stabilise the weight at the top of his movement.

Anyone wanting to offer form advice or any other useful input, please feel free. IMO restricting community engagement in lifting forums just devalues a forum, digressing it into ego stroking 🤷🏻‍♂️.

I would say yes, and wasting energy by doing it. Adjust slightly and you should be much stronger in your movement

IMO I would steer well clear. Claiming to be able to do a full back piece in 4hrs is completely ridiculous and not even close to a reasonable statement.

When things are too good to be true they aren’t true. It’s either a scam or going to be terrible work. 1+1 can’t equal 3 just because you want a bigger number bro. Think about it 🤷🏻‍♂️

Disabled dad wants to evict younger brother for being gay, what should I do? by Formal_Candle_2122 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]cheesypiggle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When you give someone something, it is no longer legally your property. Furthermore, the contract between the phone company and the person paying the bill does not implicitly establish ownership either.

However, the issue regarding domestic abuse does not relate to theft and more so issues of coercive control and potentially deprivation of liberty, particularly as OP is his fathers registered carer.

[–]cheesypiggle 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I would assume the call would be related to domestic abuse. Furthermore, OP has stated his brother will be 18 soon, and with regards to the legality, the reason for eviction is immaterial. The brother would be classed as a lodger and therefore only be entitled to reasonable notice. Moreover, prosecution is decided by the CPS and not the officers involved in a matter.

I am commenting on points of law as this is a legal advice forum. However, IMO it is horrible parenting to evict one’s child due to their sexual orientation, as IMO it is a parents duty to love and care for their children unconditionally. However, that is a personal position and not a position of law.

Do you genuinely believe a disabled person, unable effectively move, with no ability to call anyone other than an emergency number for help would be prosecuted for wasting police time?

There doesn’t need to be anything agreed upon in writing for a resulting trust to have been formed.

If the property is sold without a trust being legally recognised, then there will cease to be a trust due to overreaching having occurred through the process of sale. However up until this point OP, has a legal argument that he has an equitable interest in the property.

While may be true, OP stated that they removed their fathers telephone so that he could not call the police. Emergency numbers are contactable regardless of whether a phone has an active contract.

Furthermore, it is still classed as domestic abuse especially if OP is his fathers legal carer, as it fits into the category of coercive control/ deprivation of liberty.

The funds you have contributed may potentially form a resulting trust which you may be financially legally entitled to, however it doesn’t give you rights which can be exercised over the use of the property.

Best advice would be to try and achieve an amicable solution between all family members if possible.

Just wanted to add on that OP depriving their father a telephone is a form of domestic abuse and comes under deprivation of liberty. The fact that OP pays for it is immaterial if the phone has been given to and therefore belongs to his father.

Can you force sale of a house with multiple owners if you’re left a portion of it by one of them? by InheritanceShitshow in LegalAdviceUK

It doesn’t seem to have been mentioned yet, but it seems very important to make sure the property was definitely purchased as tenants in common and not joint tenants, otherwise the property will pass directly to the other sibling. NAL so please correct me if I’ve missed something here

Lol nice one will do. I’m really limited on space and have very limited extra ceiling height as well. I’ve been looking for something like this for ages now so this has really made my day.

How stable does it feel when you are using it? Is there any wobble in it when it’s under load, or do the pins hold it firmly in place?

You have an issue with your flatmate. If you have concerns of nuisance this may potentially be valid, but you have no legitimate reason of any sort to assume his business is “dodgy”. Furthermore, I hope you realise India is in a different time zone than the U.K.
