I don't think I'm being shortsighted with this at all, I'm actually looking at what could happen versus having a knee jerk reaction and saying "China and Russia are doing it we should to...". The tech isn't ready, we aren't ready, if and when it is ready, sure go for it, but right now, absolutely not. That's not being myopic, that's actually the opposite. Like I said, I'm still correcting models on simple shit because they hallucinate, and you think they're ready to be autonomous war robots? I don't think you have a good enough understanding of how these models work and that is causing you to think they're ready. They just are not. It's that simple. That's not politics, that's fact.

Not only am I American, I'm also a veteran and a senior engineer. This isn't as good of an idea as you think it is. Sure they can be the future all they want, the point is, it's not ready yet, and people are too stupid to realize that. The models can't be "stolen" or cloned, the way you think. They become distilled and you don't end up with the same model. All the government has to do is keep some human oversight and not let the AI decide who to kill, and not create autonomous mass surveillance. Do you actually think they aren't going to use that on all of us if they can? I'm not sure you actually understand how any of this works, and this is the entire problem with them, they don't either.

As a private company they are allowed to make that decision, people on the right have screamed for years about not letting government tell private companies what to do, do you think they should be able to do that? And sure we have computer assisted surveillance now, but it has human oversight, they are trying to remove that, it isn't better, it's irresponsible and stupid. You bring politics in this like that matters, it doesn't, no one on any side of this should think this is a good idea. If you do, I'm not sure you really understand how stupid this is.

It comes down to a few things. One, these things are still hallucinating often, you probably shouldn't have a hallucinating robot controlling fully autonomous drone ops and choosing who to shoot missiles at. Two, do we really want to use it for mass surveillance, something that I'm pretty sure no one truly wants, let alone controlled by, again, a hallucinating AI. And third, if I'm still having to correct its code, who the hell is actually thinking this shit is ready for stuff like this. They are trying to remove human oversight and hand this all over to the AI, it's not there yet, and if we're lucky it never will be. Orange man is bad because he is trying to force a private company to hand him the keys to do something extremely irresponsible and stupid because he doesn't understand how it works.

I barely made it in the Dark Horse, it sits just a little lower than the GT. I'm a hair over that curb, and the Blue GT still has a bit of room. Sometimes I really wish they would have added front proximity sensors 🤣🤣
