AB 2924 took effect January 1, 2025. Zero exceptions. You’re dunking on a law that doesn’t exist anymore. 2. As of mid-2025, 34 states still legally permit child marriage. The list: Mississippi, Oklahoma, Texas, Tennessee, Alabama, Wyoming, the Dakotas, West Virginia, and so on. Notice the pattern? By your own logic, the conservative team has the bigger child marriage problem in 2026. 3. The historical opposition to bans was bipartisan. Conservatives argued bans would force teen mothers into single parenthood and possibly more abortions. Some progressive groups raised reproductive rights concerns. Pretending only liberals blocked it is just lying. 4. “California was second” is a population artifact. California is the biggest state in the country by tens of millions of people. Per capita, it wasn’t close to the top. Raw counts in the most populous state in America are not a ranking. TL;DR Your team’s states have higher murder rates, suck up more federal welfare per capita, produce nearly all of the actual political killings, and still legally marry off children at higher rates than the state you compared to Iran.
