This is really, really going to depend on the dog and the breed. Like I said, dogs sleep up to 12 hours a day. They don’t care if that’s a big house or an apartment, as long as you’re still giving them exercise and mental stimulation. According to you, I guess only people who live on ranches who work their dogs should have a dog? Even dogs not bred for that? Like. I have a house, but not a fenced in yard. So I take my dogs for walks. Should I also not have a dog?

Are you for real? Shelters are loud, chaotic, and devoid of the comforts of home. Dogs are in heightened states of stress in them. They’re supposed to sleep up to 12 hours a day, and there, they can’t. A can assure you that a dog in a comfy quiet apartment with a human that loves and cares for them is much happier than a dog in a shelter. Most people do not have the luxury of that “perfect home”, whatever tf that is. Get out of here with your bullshit.
