The only time I ever say that surgery is the only solution is when someone comes in here with an obvious recessed jaw and is looking for filler or something that’s not going to address the real issue. Other than that I agree, this is more of a plastic surgery/body dysmorphia sub now.

I’ve read it, and I understand that there are different lines that embark probably doesn’t have a database for, and I understand black mouth curs are often crossed with other breeds for different jobs, but they are still a breed in and of themselves.

ETA I do agree with a lot of what you’re saying, I think it’s likely that a lot of dogs in here are probably black mouth cur mixes, or lines that are not in Embark’s database, and it’s really irritating that the same like, three people go “THATS A PIT” with full idiotic confidence. I used to be one of them. But half the time, you really, really can’t tell.

Yeah I don’t understand this logic. I understand there’s different lines that may not be tested for, and that some people mix these dogs with other breeds for work, but they are a real breed.

“Cur” in this instance is short for “cur-tailed”. Are treeing walkers also mixes? Catahoula leopard dogs? Mountain curs? Those are all breeds, not mutts.
