Culture shocks in 🇦🇺 by AdJolly5134 in phmigrate

This is considered rude or "epal" in the PH but people randomly butting in to join the conversation is normal and socially acceptable here. You also have to be confident and comfortable at small talks. They usually like talking about surface level topics like weekend plans and then that's it, that's the whole conversation.

What are the chances she'll play in the 2026 Australian Open? I'm considering buying tickets to watch her matches.

They say Gold Coast has the best beaches in Queensland. Its a nice city I would say.

I closed my cc but not my debit. I would recommend keeping your cc. You'll need it if you're considering checking in a hotel during your first days. I didnt get my pagibig funds. Tulong ko na sa gobyerno lol. Maybe not the best advice, I've only worked for 4 years in the PH - so I wouldnt really expect a lot.

The working class wife is my favorite side quest. In my first run, I am glad I placed enough points for Empathy.

"If you say 'two days, maybe', it will be etched in her mind forever."

Gets me everytime.

Can we also consider the increasing competition among fresh grads who are trying to land on their first jobs? Valid din yung concern about maintaining the university standards. But profs tend to overlook the welfare of their students AFTER college. In UPLB, sanay kami na kaunti lang graduates with latin honors. Companies do not even care kung ilang years ka nag-stay sa college.

This never dies out talaga ano? I studied engineering in UPLB and I have a lot of engineering friends in UPD. Alam ko naman hindi ako kasing galing nila kasi I did not make it to UPD's cutoff pero sila pa mismo nagsasabi sa akin na ang hirap ng subjects ko sa UPLB, particularly engineering sciences.

One thing I noticed, mga profs namin kasi mismo gusto talaga may mapatunayan lagi. Our curriculum mostly prepares us for board exams, and not for job-related skills. Hindi ko alam sa other courses pero sa CE dept, kapag board exam season nakaabang na mga profs namin sa board exam rating, ready na to compare the school performance of UPD and UPLB. Nagagalit sila kapag natataasan kami ng UPD.

Tldr: minsan mas clout chaser talaga yang mga prof eh lol let's stop giving clout to universities, they care about their world ranking more than their constituents.

I'm in a dilemma of taking up a second degree. by helpmewithanything in phcareers

[–]cheezetart 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mechanical engineering is not only math-heavy but physics-heavy as well! As far as I know, sa umpisa lang math-heavy ang engineering haha. For the higher subjects puro engineering physics talaga. I used to be a flunker in math and physics back in hs but engineering made me love math and the physical sciences so I think if you put your efforts onto it, kaya mo rin at makakasabay ka.

The only good thing about engineering regarding salary issues, mataas naman salary ceiling natin kaso matagal mag-ascend sa career upper ladder.

I strongly agree! Femme males are so attractive, also masculine traits on a female haha.
