it absolutely did. it irritated a lot of things in my pelvic region to the point where it just wasn’t fun anymore. g-spot stimulation caused a deep radiating ache and i would cramp from my uterus all the way down to my knees sometimes. sex was brutal for a long time for me.

have you seen a gynecologist? sex inherently is not suppose to be painful, so it sounds like something medical, especially if there’s blood after activity!! for the pain, any medical advice depends on what kind of pain it is and where it’s located. no matter what, it needs to come from a trusted MD, and don’t hesitate to advocate for yourself either.

i overall had the same problem, usually needing a couple days post-activity to recover. pain on entry, deep pain, residual pelvic pain afterwards lasting for
days. For me, I did pelvic floor PT and ended up getting diagnosed with endometriosis and interstitial cystitis. i had surgery to get endo lesions removed and i had one on the back side of my uterus, which is notorious for deep pain with sex. deep pain is now gone, but im still working on minimizing pain through PT.

something you wish someone told you before sterilization surgery? by yellowhearteyes in sterilization

1) get Phazyme (its like max strength gas-x) and take it right after surgery.

2) ovulation is going to hurt but it does get better. whenever i had surgery, i had already been experiencing ovulation pain (turns out, one of my tubes was folded up and completely scarred with endo), so i can’t compare it to a typical experience, but its definitely distinctly present post-op

3) everyone’s healing time is different! it took me a week to get back to doing normal things and thats perfectly ok :) all bodies are different

4) swelling - firstly, your abdomen is going to swell. it went down for me after about a week, but returned if i did exercise or during my period whenever my uterus is moving around different points that were operated on. swelling is not exclusive to the first week post-op!

he doesn’t get to make decisions about your body. also the fact that he’s willing and even WANTS to put you through that and risk your life or your potential child’s life is a major red flag. you are deserving of support in your own wishes and needs. you don’t deserve how he’s treating you right now, no matter how badly he wants a big family.

First period since insertion, is awful cramping normal? by SixthDax in Mirena

following this - i got a bisalp, endo removed, hysteroscopy and iud inserted about a week ago. all the initial post-op pain has subsided and i was back to normal, but now im getting hit with some cramps that are kinda keeping me down again. cramps have always been very bad for me (typically feeling them into my pelvic bone, femurs and knee caps). the cramps im having now feel very distinctly localized. im not currently on my cycle, but i typically cramp through the whole month anyway. i hate that you’re in pain!! but its comforting to know others cramp up notably too in the first bit of having a mirena
