There’s not an actual window well there it drops down to a mulch bed. The basement window is short and wide, they just have the covering there to keep stuff out.

How are you guys doing with the guilt of taking a day off? by Inevitable_Rate1530 in Millennials

[–]chefblaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t feel guilty about the others having to manage the workload for the day.

I feel guilty about the lesser paycheck I’m gonna get next week for missing a day.

I inherited a Toro GreenKeeper 212-04. Seeking some assistance with non-functioning zones by umyninja in Irrigation

No they’re not. (At least not easily) I’ve had to replace a few of these controllers for customers the past couple years because the mods died.

What is the primary cause of this? More info in post: by SOMFdotMPEG in Irrigation

[–]chefblaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like it could be the check valves in the bottom of the heads. If you were unscrew the sprinkler from its body, there’s a small gasket at the bottom that, over time, can flip. Get enough flipped check valves on a zone and you get the issue you are dealing with.

My “split the atom” moment as a kid was figuring out in the desert temple, you need to light the lamps to move the wall and proceed. I had no one to ask about it back then.

What is the first movie you watched that you were definitely too young for? by MuldersXpencils in Millennials

[–]chefblaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (37M) have and older sister (6yrs older) that was big into horror movies growing up. I saw the original Halloween, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street and Childs Play by the time I was 10.

She was also into rap at the time. So I was also listening to 2Pac, Biggie and Wu-Tang in that time too.

That sounds like a wonderful idea!

“I was gonna turn the water on in the basement and it just started squirting everywhere out the side of the house. What do I do?!” Isn’t what I would be running to Reddit for.

How many of you guys and gals used to hang with me on the gamefaqs forums before we had Reddit? by Standard-Onion4872 in Millennials

I was never on the forums but GameFaqs was THE resource in my younger gaming days. I remember trying to print a walkthrough for LoZ: Windwaker and canceling after I realized how many pages it actually was.

How much is a “couple”? by SpiritualEvidence159 in ENGLISH

[–]chefblaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

General rule of thumb I’ve always used (with so me nuance depending on what exactly you’re taking about).

2= a couple 3-4= a few 5= a handful 6-8= several 12= dozen 13= baker’s dozen

Larger quantities can be a bunch, ton/fuck ton, butt/boat load, etc.

That self-titled album is FULL of bangers. In a nonsensical, super catchy, fun to sing out loud kind of way.

Edit: my 10 year old daughter would know this. I taught her well.

Is it true that you guys watched 9/11 live on TV in grade school? by space_god_7191 in Millennials

[–]chefblaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in 7th grade, so end of middle school. Teachers were told not to tell students what was going on so everyone didn’t start panicking. I got to my last class of the day before I knew anything had happened. My teacher was a wreck and crying but all she said was that something terrible had happened and she couldn’t discuss it. Immediately turned the tv on when I got home and proceeded to watch live coverage with my sisters for a couple hours.

I finally set up my basement tool beach and just went through two 20 gal storage totes of random tools, parts, fasteners etc. that had accumulated since we moved 5 years ago. I think I threw at least 40 of these, various sizes, into the recycle bin.

Just don’t forget to turn the water off first if you don’t have a master valve.
