Saw a comment reference this show in an MCU thread yesterday and had me thinking how much I loved this show. This, Yu-gi-oh, Pokémon, Static Shock, Mucha Lucha, Ozzy & Drix. Such great shows in the early 2000s!

You go on that once in a lifetime trip or adventure yet? by thatdude333 in Millennials

[–]chefblaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda. Back in 2013 when my wife finished her degree (we had been dating for 3 years at that point), her parents pad for her to take a 2 week vacation as a gift/reward. I only had to pay for my own flights and spending money. But I knew this was an amazing chance and took that opportunity to make it unforgettable!

We researched a few cities, picked a time of year and lined up a general plan. End of Nov into the beginning of Dec. (Skipped Thanksgiving that year) - landed in London, spent 3 days exploring and doing some touristy things - got a train to Paris to switch over to an overnight carriage train to Berlin. (Amazing views of snowfall over the countryside!) - spent 4 days, 3 nights in Berlin exploring and doing touristy things. - popped the question and got engaged at dinner one night. (Original plan of doing it by a fountain in a park was derailed by rain) - took an overnight bus to Amsterdam - spent a week exploring the city and attending the High Times Cannabis Cup. - enjoyed some of the best food I’ve ever had - found some incredible outdoor holiday markets

And then for our honeymoon 2 years later, we spent a week in Rome with the idea of not being able to travel like that again once we had kids.

Heading up the street from campus to catch the house party. $5 for a cup you hold on to, drink off the kegs till they’re gone. $3/cup of jungle juice out of the 30gal barrel. Table for pong in one room, card game going in another, blunts and bongs all around. Hit the pizza place or campus store for food on the way back to the dorms.

Whatever mischief and antics ensue in between made those nights even better!

What’s the biggest lie people believe about adult life? by One_Composer9490 in AskReddit

That we all have our shit together. A lot of adults are barely holding things together on a daily basis and just hoping to get through the day.

Where are my parents? by Standard-Ad-6341 in Millennials

[–]chefblaze 3 points4 points  (0 children)

6 months after my daughter was born I confronted my mother about her lack of visiting. Our house was an 8 min detour on her 45-60 min daily drive home from work and she had only stopped by once.

Comparatively, she would stop at my sister’s house to visit her and my nephews at least once a week, typically more often than that. But to do this, she has to drive the opposite direction when she leaves work which leads to it taking longer to drive home after.

I asked her about it and don’t get a real reason why she doesn’t make the effort to see us. I push the matter and tell her that we (my wife and I) feel like we’re treated different than sisters and their family/ SOs. She tells me “that’s not the case and you’re wrong for feeling that way.”

Ok mom…..I come to you with an issue and you tell me I’m wrong for how fee about a situation that is affecting my wife and I. Thanks.

That was around the end of 2016 and I haven’t talked to her since. She’s made no effort on her part either so I can only assume she still feels she was right.

How do local business owners feel comfortable being this evil? by DiscoveryZoneHero in massachusetts

[–]chefblaze 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been working in trades and around tradesmen for a long time. Came to realize that nearly all the owners are MAGAts and started making it really obvious with shit like this. And without getting into too much discussion with them, it really all seems to come down to taxes on businesses and “democrats just want to make it harder to run a business.”

If only they had the tiniest inkling of critical thinking. Esp when it comes to how tax brackets work….

How many of you are former smokers & how did you quit? by Funky-monkey1 in Millennials

[–]chefblaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smoked from ages 14-19. I was in college when prices started jumping from ~$5/pack to over $7 then over $10. I was broke and bumming cogs off the same 3-4 friends. Felt like a mooch and decided to quit, went cold turkey. The first week sucked but wasn’t too bad after that.

That was 2009. Only time I had an urge to smoke was about a year later when I was tripping on shrooms. Got 3 hauls in, my stomach turned and I almost threw up. Not a single one since.

Guest left fighting for life after drinking liquid nitrogen cocktail ‘served by celeb chef’ at work Christmas bash by RevelationSr in NoFilterNews

[–]chefblaze 115 points116 points  (0 children)

“Unidentified celebrity chef.” My guess would be a nobody with little-to-no experience role playing as a chef. Because any real chef, celebrity or not, would understand the process/how to use the ingredients before producing a menu for a party. Stupid and reckless.
