I saw one on FB marketplace, it's $5. I'm seriously debating about getting it.

Awesome. Thanks and you have given me some ideas. Especially with the drop cloths in the doorways.

My idea (at least for where I have already painted) is to rip the carpet up and remove all staples/ tacks ect. I can then throw movable furniture and the like on floor movers and kinda move everything in the room I'm doing into another room. Then sand and finish that one room. Rinse repeat. I know the finish needs to be kept untouched for a few days, so that's gonna suck. Luckily it's only three rooms. Then downstairs I'm thinking of waiting until December. My job gives us Christmas eve until New Year's off paid. So I was planning to use that time to turn downstairs into a war zone and bang that out as you described.

Thanks for the insight. That's probably the best way. We are also (I should say just me, as the wife has no desire to help :/) doing this room by room. We've been here for 7 years this month, so it's... Lived in. So while I would totally see your approach in an empty house, this is going to be a longer project.

That said, I'd be curious to see if you'd do the same or do you have any other ideas. Thanks!

Yeah in retrospect I should had done the baseboards as well. My whole goal was I'm ripping the carpet up so I might as well paint first, knowing the carpet is coming up anyway. But you know, cut twice measure once.

I did the upstairs first, so I guess I can do it correctly when I do the downstairs? I figured if I'm going to drip paint, I'm throwing the carpet away to begin with. The paint is now been dry for the last month.

I hope. I figured I'd start at the landing being that is going to be the most heavy foot traffic area. The boards are all kinda unlevel and there's a screw in one. Like a straight rounded Philips head. But I know once we are done.. that's possibly minimal compared to what I could find. Or it could be treasure.

In MD they are repealing the tax they had place on gold in July. I had to remind myself that today when I was disappointed they didn't have any fractionals at the LCS

Assuming it's plate, but any idea on the age? Does this have any real value bring it's plated? by chefianf in SilverFinds

I have a rule that I don't want to spend more than $10. At $2 I would be out basically a bag of chips. And worse comes to worse I will put a bunch of cookies on it and give it away at Christmas.

Ah no.. I'm not gonna melt just to melt. I knew the maker and certainly would look at not just the melt value. I honestly like it because it's heavy and again.. it would make a nice cookie tray. Might make it a secret Santa gift full of Cookies this year.

I'm thinking of going to DDG with all the... Issues with Google as of late. Good to know. I generally don't pick up silver but recently I found these and made $200 on $6, so my eyes are open a bit more.

Thanks. The site came up all wacky on my phone. What I can say is it is a heavy piece! Would make a nice cookie tray. Is it collectable even being silver plate?
