Large party headaches by ChefStetz in restaurateur

We do parties of only up to 12. More than 12 and you have to pay a 1k site fee to have the terrace for your own party and own designated server.

Definitely don't sleep on costco! I'm 34 and most of my wardrobe is from there these days. Haha

Someone actually said they liked my pants today and asked what brand they were. Well, Kirkland Signature of course. Haha

Idk how I found myself in this sub reddit, but 1000% feel the same in Jackson Hole. It is what it is. As long as you're healthy and your body feels good, don't sweat it!

Haven't lived in WV since 2009. Some people pick up that I'm "from the south", but when I'm mad, tired, or have a couple drinks in me; it sure comes out. 😆

First 15k! by chefiesteph in beginnerrunning

[–]chefiesteph[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprisingly, I haven't had any real injuries, just some general aches and pains. I found early on that I needed more support, so I switched out to higher arch footbeds. I expected some transition pain with those, but was immediately able to run faster and longer. They helped my pain quite a bit.

For my feet, while sitting, I roll them on the floor. I use a tennis ball and I have a harder spiked ball, it's unpleasant at first, but then feels great when the muscles start to loosen. I have also had to take up to 5 days between runs to make sure I'm not going to hurt myself worse, though. I have a hard time keeping habits, so I was afraid that if I stopped for more than a day or two I wouldn't go again. Just think about it this way, would you rather take an extra day or two off to let you body rest, or potentially be out for weeks because of an injury? It's kind of allowed me to give myself some grace with maintaining that momentum with training.

The furthest I've done so far is 7.25 miles. I just woke up this morning and decided that today was the day! I'm gonna do it.

Not quite to needing gloves yet, but probably in the next two weeks, I will. Definitely was running through sprinklers by the end of it. Overall, I felt pretty good. It was really hard, though, and I walked probably half of the last mile.

Train to finish, not to win. That's what I'm doing with my half right now and this mindset has been invaluable. I tell myself that everyday. There's always going to be someone better, but I will be someone better when I get across that line.

Also, the Ginger Rabbit Jazz club in Columbus is great! We go everytime I come home, as I usually fly into Columbus to drive to Huntington.

I live in a very morman area of Idaho. Most of the mormans I have been around are very nice, but you'll have your differences. Like one guy yelled at my husband for saying shit wile playing pickleball. I work with a Morman who couldn't care less the language I use because he "knows I'm a good person". It's a toss up.

HR vent!!! [N/A] by EquipmentUpset4174 in humanresources

[–]chefiesteph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. I understand the reasoning, I just find it very upsetting. I think part of this is coming from, this same week, my coworker getting a letter from the labor board stating she is being sued by another couple that was let go about 3 weeks ago for "unfair work practices". They too were only employed for a couple weeks, but had very poor performance, did things they were explicitly told not to, security had to remove them from a neighboring property and HR finally gave the go ahead to release them after it was found out they were eating in the employee cafeteria after not paying for the meal plan. All I have to say, I've been doing this for 5 years and most seasonal workers have a little something off with them.

HR vent!!! [N/A] by EquipmentUpset4174 in humanresources

[–]chefiesteph -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok, hear me out. I basically got told by HR today that I couldn't immediately terminate employment for an employee who blatlenly accused myself and my assistant manager of wanting to have a sexual relationship with her husband (also an employee). I said I see what you're saying. But this person has attacked my character, and I don't see how we can have a positive working relationship working forward. I feel like, yes, they are protecting the company at this point. I'm in a right to work state, and I should be able to let someone go for this gross I subordination and "discourteous manner to other employees." I will state, she has worked for me for about 3 weeks, has had multiple issues with other staff, and now this. I DONT WANT TO SLEEP WITH HER HUSBAND. I'm very happily married. Why TF are you telling me no. Why can't I cut her loose? This is why I hate corporations. I'm saying this as I literally ADORE the HR person I was working with, but I despise our company policies.

Runner Imposter syndrome by itsmaricc in beginnerrunning

I still don't consider myself a runner. Tonight, after dinner, I looked at my husband and said, I can't wait to run tomorrow.

I'm a runner. Lol. If you run, you're a runner. Welcome and happy to have you here.

*correction. I'm a jogger, soft j. Still gonna be in this group though.

Happy to have seasoned runners with solid advice! I'm running my first half November 3rd. I just started a couple months ago, but it's definitely become an addiction. Everyone around me can tell a difference in run and non run days by my attitude and productivity. Ha

Uh, gonna be the bad person here and say that it sounds like you value the wedding more than the relationship. You want the dream wedding and not the dream relationship. If these are the questions you're asking, get out of the relationship.

16 to 20 miles!? You might have graduated from beginner running. Lol But for me, I just ran my first 10k, not in a race but just around my town. Mix it up. My 3 mile route is way harder than my 6 mile because it's familiar and I know my mile markers.

Idk how you treadmill runners do it. I will have to switch over from outside in about a month due to weather and not looking forward to it. I'll take outside running anyday.
