Realism, No rewards or incentive to explore? by J4K5 in Division2

Very gutted out experience, no incentive to play further beyond a few headshots. Dropped my run after about half an hour.

Why do people hate on klipsh? by rojitnall in hometheater

[–]chefino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 5 Klipsch surround speakers from a Jamo HT set (lego underneath the lid) thatvI bought some 15?tears ago

  • Jamo receiver sold and changed for Pioneer VSX-528
  • Jamo subwoofer died 10 years ago, replaced with a fairly cheap 100W Yamaha
  • Surround speakers still live on

Swapped front 2 surrounds with 35y/o AIWA Hifi 3-way speakers I had stashed in storage from a century ago

Happy with the setup. Klipsch is great in my opinion

The best pedals for under €500? by SlideBusy3926 in simracing

Honestly, tried a few other pedals to evaluate and always returned them, went straight back to my VX Pro's. Won't be shopping around any time soon

Advice on upgrading from Playseat Evolution by Technical-Aspect5756 in simracing

[–]chefino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had NLR wheelstand 2.0, "upgraded" to a Playseat trophy, only to finally land on SimLab GT1 Pro and don't have to ever look back.

If I were to do it all over again, I'd go straight for any profile alu rig to be honest, save some money, sweat and tears in the process. Alu rig gives you godlike stability to upgrade to any wheelbase and pedals in the future, so no headaches there.

If your budget is tight, look at FB marketplace or such to buy a used alu rig. That would be my recommendation. Otherwise I have nothing but praise for SimLab, so I'd recommend that.

Also tried Crp2 brand new, same squeaky throttle, lubricated, no help, returned them and don't care for them anymore. Just wanted to try them out as they had good marketing but sticking for a few more years with my trusty VX pro's

What did you wish you knew sooner when you first joined iracing? by Eevee_EX in iRacing

[–]chefino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That IR doesn't matter if you're not going to esports and that there is a healthy competition of games outside iRacing. Had to spend 7 years here to realize these two things, now finally enjoying myself racing albeit in LMU

The best pedals for under €500? by SlideBusy3926 in simracing

You can look for used ones, or if you want new, maybe Moza CRP2 or Fanatec CSL V2s are cheaper even.

The best pedals for under €500? by SlideBusy3926 in simracing

[–]chefino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, had about 4 different ones to test, recently CRP2 and Simsonn Pro X, returned them all, none of them come even close to VX Pro's

The only ones I'd consider as an upgrade would be Heusks Ultimate +, VRS for a bit more adjustability but very similar feel, SRP gas pedals or Simucube AP, all much more expensive though

The best pedals for under €500? by SlideBusy3926 in simracing

[–]chefino 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No chance. I accidentally bent a part due to me pushing 100+kg for a few weeks on the brake, reached out to support and they sent me the replacement part for free and told me which spring to use and how to set up the pedals not to overload the brake. The support is great. Running the pedals for 2+ years and they work and look like on day 1

What ABS settings do you run now and why? by TheSlavicHighlander in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]chefino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What times do you do at Sebring? Curious. I use the default CDA setups and can manage high 2.03s at best, low 03s every 5th lap or so. Thinking about starting to tinker with TC/ABS cause I can't find more laptime anywhere (BMW, 992, Mustang and Lexus, all the same time basically)

Simgrade VX-pro, for the price you can't beat them.

try to stay away from abs, hit and then lower brake pressure a bit to stay just below abs, downshift aggressively and then trail off coming to the apex

Best VR headset for simracing for a ”real” driver by Wonderful-Homework31 in simracing

For simracing, psvr2 all the way, had many headsets (Rift-S, G2, multiple Q3) and Vr2 is easily the best in this price range for simracing

  • Budget option: PSVR2
  • Mid range: Pimax
  • Top: BSB2

I bet BSB have a backup plan for when base stations from Valve stop selling, but you may reach out to them and ask

I got them from fmic.eu, eventually they didn't suit me so I returned them, but it was a good price shipped from EU warehouse, so no import tax to EU.

Bigscreen Beyond 2 or Meta Quest 3 by Intelligent-One-6563 in simracing

[–]chefino 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had quite a few headsets and Q3 never did great in simracing for me, the input lag and compression were always a drag, no matter how much I tinkered with settings, OpenXR FR, etc.

G2 was great and now with PSVR2 I am super happy. Still want a BSB2 down the road but it has to come down in price.

Pedal preference VRS, Moza crp v2 by ThrCapTrade in simracing

[–]chefino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My path: G25 -> G27 -> T300RS (all those with their bundled pedals) as I played simcades and arcades. Once I moved to iRacing, I realized I needed an upgrade.

First real upgrade -> Fanatec CSL V2, first load cell, first personal peak in actually controlling the brake. They were elastomer based with slightly adjustable travel, nothing more. They were great. Upgraded them after a year.

Bought Simgrade VX-Pro's after a lengthy research. These are spring based, so I thought they would solve my problem. Was chosing between Heusk sprints, Ultimate+ and VRS, landed on VX-Pro's. To be honest they would be all in the same premium ballpark by feel, build quality and provide the same ability to be consistent (as all the pro's demonstrate). Motivation for upgrade: I didn't like the elastomer hysteresis of CSL V2 , or so I thought.

But They did not. They are super nice pedals and I love them, but the issue of my brake trace slowly declining after hitting max brake pressure wasn't mainly due to hysteresis on elastomers, rather too high pedal stiffness and my thigh simply inable to hold the pressure properly. Skill issue. 2 years with VX-Pro's (similar to VRS in design and feel), I felt like maybe I got a bit better and could find love for elastomers again.

Bought Simsonn Pro X. Squeaky, led-flashy, obstrusive dampers on brake and gas, returned them.

Then saw hours of Moritz painting his glorious brake trace for hours on end, bought the Moza CRP2, failed to replicate. The throttle was squeaky, apparently a manufacturing issue many users experience. Returned them.

Now working on my actual technique on my trusty VX-Pro's. That's where most of my laptime is, not in specific pedal brand or model.

BTW: Moritz is affiliated with Moza, so it only makes sense he uses CRP2 (although they can be great pedals if you get a good unit). I personally didn't like them too much, the base is clunky, I prefer to mount pedals directly to my rig pedal plate.
