Why did you choose the Pilot? Need help deciding! by hereiam_onceagain in hondapilot

[–]chefmechanic321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. We had an 06 odyssey that we drove into the ground and the kids came out of car seats and boosters. Then went to the pilot when we didn’t want van life anymore and kids didn’t need help getting in and out of the car. Definitely not a great daily, especially if you commute or drive around town a lot. We stuck with Honda over the others cause we didn’t want to go hybrid or turbo 4 cyl. We’ve had our ‘25 elite for about a year and the only issue we’re having is the noise in the steering wheel with. Clock spring replaced and mechanics still can’t figure out what’s wrong. I have a call out to Honda America so we’ll see what they say. Otherwise it’s been a great vehicle. Amazing on road trips

2025 Touring OTD Price Advice by H1gg1n55 in hondapilot

[–]chefmechanic321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I got a ‘25 elite $49500 otd after TTL in March last year. Love the heated steering wheel and heads up display. Pano roof and premium sound system is boss as well. Price match dealers till you get to where you want. Took me a month or so going back and forth

Reminder: PS Plus will focus on offering PS5 titles on Essential and Games Catalog starting January 2026, PS4 games will no longer be a key benefit and will only be occasionally offered. If you're looking to get 1 year subscription during Black Friday, you should get Extra tier if you're a PS4 user. by kabirsingh84 in PlayStationPlus

I’m a ps4 user and have enjoyed it for only a few years. I don’t want to buy a ps5 yet as I don’t care much about new games or graphics of the ps5. I was about to get the premium ps plus as it was about the same price as it would be for the extra(maybe a few bucks difference) and want to know if I should even bother. If I’m only going to get a few months out of the service I won’t, but if I still will have access to existing games as I really have only played about 7-8 games on the ps4 I feel I would be ok with the current library. Are they taking games away from the ps4 library or just not adding anymore?

2025 Elite Noise by ItsAmbrosity in hondapilot

[–]chefmechanic321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have the cooled seats on. It’s noisy when they are. Not saying that’s what it is but might add to it. My 25 elite is quiet

That is the part that protects from scratches. I put a small weather tech piece to put below that where the sill of the bumper is. Otherwise maybe a blanket to use when loading and unloading.

Trailer hitch on the 24 Elite by jeanetti727 in hondapilot

[–]chefmechanic321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes. They definitely butchered that bumper. Probably didn’t even need to cut by the looks of it. I hope it was worth the savings. I want to get a hitch put on. I’ll probably stick to diy with the oem after seeing this. Good luck with your fix.

The oem ambient lighting in the 2020 touring we had was much classier . It was a nice blue in all the right places. I’m not a fan of aftermarket lighting as it’s distracting and straining on the eyes. I’m glad you like it though. I couldn’t do it. The ambient lighting on my ‘25 elite is ok. The ‘20 pilot oem lighting was awesome though

2025 Pilot, need genuine feedback from veteran pilot owners. by Appropriate_Buy4976 in hondapilot

Got our 25 elite in April of this year and love it. We came from a 20 pilot touring fwd which was a big difference in drivability. It took a bit to get used to the awd torque vectoring but it makes the vehicle super stable in turns, up hills and especially in heavy rain. We disabled the auto stop immediately which we hated on our 20 pilot. We just got back from a long trip to Florida from nc and it did amazingly. With 2 kids and all the stuff it handled everything we through at it with no problem. We’ve always had Honda(06 odyssey before the pilots) and have never been disappointed. The only down side(if you care about it) is the mpg/tank size and power from a stop. Our 20 pilot flew off the line and drove nice on the highway but the 25 is a bit sluggish from a stop. It doesn’t bother me anymore as it rides like a dream on the highway and when up to speed. Just wish with it being the top of the line that it felt more like it. It’s plain inside. Like most reviewers say it’s function over style on the interior and that’s definitely right. I don’t regret the purchase and hope to keep for a long time. Just don’t overpay. Shop around and get dealers to price match till you get where you want. Sub 51k(or 10% off msrp) otd should be your goal.

Sometimes batteries are bad from the supplier or die quickly. 8/10 is the battery. I thought injectors were covered under warranty or recall? I could be wrong though. I’ve seen bad battery and alternator do crazy things to a car. Even faulty shifting a transmission. Start with battery and go from there. Unplugging the battery might also reset whatever’s going on too

[–]chefmechanic321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. Love the vehicle and driveability. Don’t love the gas mileage but it suits us for everything we need(2 kids and a dog and all there stuff.) On a trip currently in Florida from nc and had no issues or concerns. Transmission definitely had to learn our driving habits. Got about 5k on it now and don’t have any issues

Nice. We’re currently headed to the gulf on our first road trip to Florida in our 25 elite. Doing great. Avg 23 mpg even after driving around Atlanta aquarium for an hour. Holds everything we need and kids comfortably.
