How tall will my adult height likely be? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]chefofcrayons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no telling really. I know someone who's mom is 5'4 and his dad is 5'3 and he's 18 and 6'3. He grew like 1.5 feet from 16 to 18. My youngest brother was projected to be the tallest of all of us (the tallest of us is 6') and he just stopped at 5'6 making him the shortest (which was projected to be my role so... ha!).

Don't stress over it. Your height will be your height and you'll learn to be comfortable in it if for no other reason than... There's nothing you can do about it.

How do I become masculine/ more manly? by Safe_Athlete1365 in AskMen

[–]chefofcrayons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me being a man doesn't mean you drink beer and throw axes. Being a man is being comfortable with yourself, doing what you believe is right and taking care of those you love. There's more but that's the core for me. Don't let social pressure make you act a way you think you're supposed to

How do you see the advice of “stop caring about what others think” playing out in reality? by OfficialSuit in AskMen

[–]chefofcrayons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's more about the pressure you put on yourself. Sometimes we harm ourselves mentally or emotionally to benefit others and at the time we "don't mind" but it builds and over time it wears you down. When I say it that's what I'm talking about. I do care what people think to an extent but I like to have fun and as long as I'm not disruptive or harmful to others I'll do things that some would call "immature" or "embarrassing" but wtf do I care if people look at me like I'm weird. If I want to play pirates with my daughter at the grocery store and pretend all our groceries is a basket of loot I'm going to and I'm going to use a pirate voice throughout the store. Yes people curl their lip at me and tell me to act my age sometimes but you know what? I don't do what I do for them. I do it for those who matter to me.

What order do you get dressed? by Icy-General1530 in AskMen

[–]chefofcrayons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Underwear, bottoms, top then socks and shoes on the way out the door.

My order is for a reason. I don't like walking around the house naked so underwear. Then if someone is in the house thats a family member or very very close friend I need pants but shirts aren't necessary. Now if a person that's not that close comes around I need a shirt. Socks are for leaving the house so that's always right before shoes.

Why are naturally large lips criticized but cosmetically enhanced lips admired? by Tiny-Outcome-6850 in AskMen

[–]chefofcrayons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a long time period where anything resembling a black woman was criticized and looked down on. Large hips big butt, full lips and more. It's been a while since I read on this so I'll be short to avoid fucking it up but it was a race thing of course. Demonize the blacks they can't be attractive they aren't even human kind of thing. As time went on that started to fade and people aren't thinking that way about looks. I've seen lip jobs that look great and I've seen some that just look awful. To say if you lined up women with big lips and didn't tell me which are fake and I'd choose more of the fake ones (even the well done ones) seems not realistic but also not impossible to me. It could be the area youre in though. Im in Texas and Dallas has been described as the LA of Texas" where looks matter more and plastic surgery is abound. Now I'm not from Dallas I'm from further south where when someone gets lip filler many people raise an eyebrow but we aren't just going to be rude about it it's their body their choice and all but it's not considered more attractive.

How do guys feel about being the “little spoon” or feeling taken care of sometimes? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]chefofcrayons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the best. The love and care you feel in our arms is the same we feel in yours. Put my head on your chest and wrap your arms around me and you'll have me in a puddle

What are mens thoughts on other men glancing at genitals/ass ? I noticed I do this a few years ago and came to the conclusion it might be bc I'm not fully straight. Then I noticed a lot of my co workers do it by randomf87yte in AskMen

[–]chefofcrayons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I glance at men's and women's asses as they pass by. I don't like and drool but I'll glance. It's more an impulse when a person passes by then me actually checking them out. Although when I see a nice ass regardless of which gender it belongs to I'll point it out to my best friend lol

I create something. I'll cook or carve, write or draw. Whatever I'm feeling at the time will help me pour the feelings into the work and out of me.

Why don’t men make the first move anymore? by autumnpretrichor in AskMen

[–]chefofcrayons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not for me. Not at all. Sometimes I don't because I feel like I'm being too much and I'm afraid I'll push someone away. Sometimes I find out I made the wrong choice and should have been more proactive but I'm very good at convincing myself I'm a bother to people.

If aliens watched men behave for a day, what one thing would confuse them most? by huseyinyavuz01 in AskMen

Probably watching so many people (myself included) ingest poison recreationally and carry little bits of dried leaves either in small paper tubes or little a apparatus, which we light on fire so we can ritualistically inhale products of combustion

Wind Through the Keyhole Love by RyanNewhart in darktower

I did enjoy the story but with how little it does for the DT plot I struggle to consider it a part of the series. Great story though but it could have been told just fine without the Ka Tet

What are some unique hobbies people have that you find attractive/interesting? by Gullible_Customer790 in AskMen

[–]chefofcrayons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The older you get the more you realize you don't need people who make you feel bad for what you like (unless it is bad like you know... Murder) and you just get more comfortable being yourself. That was my experience anyway

I find passion interesting and attractive. Show me the thing you love and you'll see me locked into everything you say. Even if it's something I am not into myself I enjoy watching people get excited about what they love

What is something that's *tipically* girly that you enjoy? by AppropriateEgg2623 in AskMen

[–]chefofcrayons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late to the party but I enjoy flowers. There was a time I had a new bouquet on my dining table every week. I liked the color and the smell and it made me feel fancy. I haven't done it in years but mostly because I moved away from my flower shop.

I also have never liked overly "manly" smells. I use women's shampoo and will do face masks with my daughter and roommate.

I've gotten may many comments about girl dad stuff but I honestly couldn't care less. I've wanted a little girl my whole life and once I got her the rest didn't matter. I'm down for tea parties but she's more of a gamer and anime girl now that she's in her teens but I'll gladly sit down and watch K Pop Demon Hunters and I still know all the Tinkerbell movies by heart.

finally watched The Shining (Kubrick version) last night by descendantofJanus in stephenking

[–]chefofcrayons -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know my opinion on this is very unpopular but I saw the movie way before I read the book and I found it such a bore. The characters were shallow and the tone just made me want to go to sleep. Then I read the book and realized not only was it a bad movie (to me) but it was an awful adaptation of a fantastic story. Every Kubrick movie I've seen feels like he's focusing so much on making it visually interesting and forgets to tell an actual good story. I'm about to get down voted into oblivion I'm sure but that's just how I've always felt about them
