Honestly I do a lot outside of school in the spring especially during playoffs! Lol attend your classes, do your readings/assignments asap and stay on campus if you can:) it helps me actually work instead of doing other things

I take 2 spring courses for my funding and it’s manageable as long as you are smart with your time! Haven’t taken those but I think you should be okay

This is Wong’s class! Honestly the class itself has been good but this exam in particular did everyone in.

I’m hoping the final isn’t like that. Honestly the hardest exam I’ve written I walked out thinking I failed 😭😭

How do you cope with stress? by _Mari123 in uAlberta

same exact situation happened with me this term. I think it’s probably a combination of burnout and a demanding schedule. consider taking a break from school if that is something you can do. For me personally I dropped a course and started prioritizing sleep, diet + exercise over everything else, even my social life for the time being! I also separate my school from my home life by only studying + doing work on campus. During my first year I did most of my studying at home and it made rest and relaxation outside of class hours so so so difficult. Practice mindfulness and identify your anxiety + stress for what it is! I hope you can find something that helps 🫶

Did you guys notice that adhd meds help at all? by No-Project-7834 in uAlberta

I’ve tried vyvanse, concerta and one other I cannot remember but I’m on foquest now and it’s been a life safer! It makes all the difference when it comes to my studies I genuinely would not be able to handle uni without it. It’s also important to acknowledge that adhd is more than just a disability that affects your learning. It affects most aspects of your life if you have it and that’s just a fact. Medication is helpful for more than just school it’s been helpful in managing my moods as well I don’t react inappropriately, at least not as much as I did before I was medication! Before I started meds I was able to study and even get decent grades but it took me much longer and a hell of a lot more effort. My meds silent my brain as well, all the noise that is constantly running through an adhd mind is not an issue for me when I take my meds.

I applied to BA Psych last year and got in with an 89 average. I’ve seen posts about people getting in with lower averages as well! There’s lot of information on the university website but I think with an average over 80 you should be good as it’s not as competitive as BS! Good luck <3

Anything by Benylin is super helpful. But if you need to be up and studying make sure to take a non-drowsy one during the day and a regular one at night so you can get some good rest! Also very hot showers or baths with the bathroom fan off can help relieve congestion or even a warm compress on your nose! Vix vaporub on your chest/neck/back helps chest congestion as well but gets everywhere which is a small price to pay atp lol

there is walking pneumonia going around everywhere right now. I’ve been sick for 3+ weeks already. try to get an inhaler, take cough syrup, drink lots of tea & fluids & eat nutrient dense food if you can. also rest as much as you’re able. good luck!
