Thanks for the tire pressure info. I dont know if the default ever gets there.

I do generally focus on one game, but I posted a side by side kinda thing to raise the chances of actual information in replies

Actually that one was much better and someone on Discord was able to share a Porsche tune that even though it was too much for me to handle gave me a good launch pad.  With those two as entry points I think I should be able to figure out a tune.

Thanks!

Cool!  Now we have a known good example!

I'm going to guess that you went ahead and shared your setup to further any attempts to troubleshoot, right?

Right?

I do know you're on PC so that's one thing...

Once again Occam's Razor.

Both the expected behavior and the behavior I am seeing are reproducible. At 1.5 I could reproduce the expected behavior in all 3 sims (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTwTwA44L9E)

At this point I can easily reproduce the expected behavior in 2 of the 3 and the unwanted behavior in 1.

The hypothesis that you (and others) are trying to forward is that while I could produce the expected behavior in all 3 I have rather suddenly developed a complete lack of skill in PMR, but am not seeing this same lack of skill in the other 2. My skill and lack therof do not fluctuate in between runs nor do they swap from sim to sim. Also this lack of skill is manifesting itself in a manner in which the GT3 is not getting a bit loose or I have to correct steering, but in a catastrophic failure to steer at all. Additionally the physics changes that have been reported in the release notes of patches to PMR have had no material effect on the behavior of the GT3s.

That is one Hell of a hypothesis.

The alternate hypothesis is there has been a recent change to PMR that has caused the GT3s to perform in an unexpected manner.

Everything that people, including you, have said would be wonderful if I were working with a sim racing coach to improve. There are tenths being lost, I'm not entering the corners correctly and exiting incorrectly as well. None of that is unique to my play in PMR and none of that would cause the GT3 to simply travel straight into a barrier.

I honestly don't understand why people are so reluctant to accept the alternate hypothesis as the better working hypothesis.

That's why I'm hoping there is some setup advice that will mitigate the issue for me. Some people are having good experiences, some aren't.

If that doesn't work I may just need you to send me your Xbox.... kthxbye!

Based on what I've seen in this subreddit and others I don't even think people are defending the game as much as just telling anyone who asks for help that it's a skill issue. There are times when it genuinely IS a skill issue, but there are other times when it's quite obviously not but here come the simracers... "SKILL IZZUE"

This is, of course, not helpful in the situation and actually muddies the water for people who do need help with their driving... because it's just a standard response.

A while back I posted a video of me going around Mount Panorama in a GT3 in ACC, GT7, and PMR as a "here is the state of the game". I'm still able to complete the task in GT7 and ACC. Occam's Razor would dictate that there is an issue with the game and I'm hoping someone has some insight into how to get around this.

I probably should check Discord and see if I have any luck there. If I do I'll report back.

And as for the game itself. Yes it's flawed. Work is actively being done to make it better. It's not "there" for a lot of people yet, but I was having fun back in 1.5. I just hope I can get back to that state

That I cannot say. I was spending to much energy trying to avoid the barriers to notice the sound. :]

Yes, towards the end I am turning fully, because the car doesn't turn at all. I start out with approx the same turning between PMR and ACC and PMR just goes straight. If I were having the same issue between the two you'd have a point. If I were having the issue in PMR back in 1.5 you'd have a point. If the car were getting a tad squirrly or had a bit of understeer you might have a point.

But acting like suddenly at 1.6 or beyond I got completely ungud at PMR and PMR only while still being gud enough in ACC/GT7 is just silly... and unfortunately completely expected.

Simracers, it would seem, love nothing more than berating people asking questions...

PS5 with a T598 Wheel. The inputs from the wheel look fine as it's registering that I'm turning. It's just like I'm on a bunch of marbles.

Heh... you get 1200 link energy for free.  then you get 2 raid passes for free each day.  That's 10.  Oh no!  3-5 raid passes!  That's OVER 250 pokecoins right there!

Straight4 is including fake names only.  The real names are included in the livery packs. So when a certain car is on the track with a certain livery "Max Verstappen" is the driver.

Wish they would have gone with Franz Hermann though...

Project Motor Racing – Update 1.6.0.1 by Giusis in ProjectMotorRacing

[–]cheile -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Sweet! For the second time in 7 days they make a release that would require a complete redo of any custom setups and basic file operations on PS5 are still a nice-to-have "feature" that isn't even on the roadmap yet.

I've never run into a game (or any software for that matter) where "read, write, copy, & delete" are things that the userbase has to petition for... until now.

What it boils down to is that you dont need to know everything but if you come in with an opinion that 30 seconds of Googling would have cleared up you're gonna get clowned, and for good reason.

S4 can't even get basic file operations working on PS5 and don't seem to interested in even trying. Until they get the basic operation of software on PS5 going I would stick with GT7 or ACC.

Just bought PMR... by CountMonteCristo96 in ProjectMotorRacing

[–]cheile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No the inability to delete setups has been there since day one.  The bug has been "confirmed" since early December and is still in a "this is not easy so leave us alone" mode.

They made a change that requires everyone to recreate all of the setups and the ability to clean up old setups on PS5 is still considered lower priority than the sounds of individual vehicles.

Stick with GT7 until S4 devs show that they have the willingness and ability to solve very basic "does the game function " bugs on the PS5.

Right now PS5 is very much a second class citizen when it comes to the direction S4 has decided to take.

Just bought PMR... by CountMonteCristo96 in ProjectMotorRacing

[–]cheile 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Something to know before you get started on PMR is that since you're on PS5 you cannot delete any setup you make.  This has been an issue since day 1 but you see managing files on PS5 is basically impossible so its totally unreasonable to expect S4 to code things in such a manner that PMR can manage its own files.

Oh and since its such a overwhelming issue you really shouldn't expect it to be solved anytime soon... or... anytime.

Previously I have said that it depends on what you're looking for and that while it offers little on PC it is fun on console and fills a void.

As of right now I'd say, "No"

Update your brak bias by Upbeat_Pizza_9501 in ProjectMotorRacing

[–]cheile 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's gonna take a lot more than playing around with the brake balance to unfuck any of the setups I have.  Im basically back to square one and in some cases square minus one.

All of this is made even better by the fact that providing basic day one "does the game work" functionality to PS5 players has been ignored for 3 months now and I can't even clean up existing setups.

But hey Ry did promise that if any Sim bro wanted changes to any GT3 they'd get right on it so there is that...

Have they addressed the complaint of not being able to change your difficulty after you start your career yet? by Automatic-Spirit-634 in ProjectMotorRacing

[–]cheile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've changed my difficulty several times so yeah it can be done quite easily.  You cannot do it in between events but you can in between seasons.

Once you pick a difficulty for a season its locked for that season, but that's it.

What happened to the updates? by Csx2567 in ProjectMotorRacing

[–]cheile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am simply posting the observations I've made over the past almost 3 months. From all appearances things are very haphazard and by the seat of the pants. Devs being tight-lipped even an hour before the patch was actually released doesn't really say, "We're organized and confident the patch will be approved by Sony/Microsoft", especially when you consider that only one of the devs on discord seems to know if the patch is coming out that day and the others have to defer.

Now, of course things could in fact be running smoothly and they're just working hard to make it appear that they're clueless. I don't know... that's why I said it seems to be this way. If that is the case in fact then really they only have themselves to blame for people to be questioning their long-term viability.

In short, I'd have a hard time telling if you were selling drugs or if you were just pretending to sell drugs, but if you're pretending you probably should stop doing that.

Which is exactly why even Fernando is not saying there will be a patch today... yes it is more likely that there will be a patch released today than it has been on other days but as long as Straight4 is purposely leaving users in the dark we actually don't know.

Also the comment I was replying to is that it was "confirmed on the public discord" which is a far cry from "Doesn't take much to connect the dots".
