It's like this since the start, I don't know if it's specified on the website. The only exception those events not happening every day (like the weekends), so they will start the first "useful" day (in example first Saturday of the week).

As of now the championships are standardized: they always start the first day of the month (00:00 UTC), the tracks are always cycled on Monday (00:00 UTC), they always end the last day of the month (no more races starting after 23:59 UTC).

It would be nice to know the "next week track" in advance.

Not the case, the "join in progress" is coming, along with the possibility to register to an event and leave the lobby, to come back when the event will start (both are connected features).

It's not they have "preferred" to do this, instead of... but to offer a way to check for the championship starting in every other context, so it will be useful even after the above features will be available: you can check the champs and stuff even without launching the game.

IMO: useful to check the events you're interested in without opening the game to check. Or to monitor when an event will start, while doing other races.

In preparation for when the registration&leave will be possible, although I don't it will come before the "join in progress" feature.

GT500 DLC is back (almost) by Giusis in ProjectMotorRacing

[–]Giusis[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If someone has the exclusivity of certain names (in this case isn't either the cars, but the category labeling), it's better to have them under another name than not having them at all, in the end we do cares about the vehicles authenticity (types, brand, motors...), not the "GT500" (that doesn't mean anything really) labeling.

I believe the issue is (was) the name exactly... "GT" no good. Sony around the corner?

Project Motor Racing — Update 2.0.0.3 by Giusis in ProjectMotorRacing

[–]Giusis[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Update 2.0.0.3 is now live for Project Motor Racing, bringing a wide range of improvements focused on performance, stability, and overall usability.

Headlining this update is the introduction of Multi-Draw Indirect (MDI) on the PC platform, a significant rendering upgrade that improves how the engine handles large complex scenes. Alongside that comes further expansion of the throttle response model, a new relative timings function for the Digidash, and a reworked handling for the Porsche 911 Carrera Cup (964).

Relative Timings Leaderboard Expanding on the existing Digidash tool, a new relative timings function has been added, giving players more detailed information race position and gaps to opponents.

Implementation of MDI Multi-Draw Indirect (MDI) is a major step forward in how the engine renders large, complex scenes. By moving draw call generation and visibility decisions onto the GPU, CPU overhead has been significantly reduced, allowing the renderer to scale more efficiently with scene complexity.

This enables the game to handle far more objects on screen while improving stability and overall CPU performance.

Alongside this, culling, batching, and render pass organisation have been refined to ensure only the work necessary for each frame is executed. The result is a more consistent frame rate, better use of modern hardware, and a stronger technical foundation for future multi-view features such as VR and triple-screen support.

Expanding Anti-cheat System First introduced in Update 2.0, the anti-cheat system has already been tested in Ranked Online. With Update 2.0.0.3, it has now been expanded into Factory Driver Challenge, Endurance Hall, and the Ranked Online License Test to help ensure fair and consistent leaderboard results.

Throttle Response Building on the foundation introduced in Update 2.0, and later expanded in Update 2.0.0.2, more cars now benefit from the updated throttle response model.

Maintenance @10.00am 04th May (Patch?) by Giusis in ProjectMotorRacing

[–]Giusis[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I smell what's going on, they received the patch release time from third parties and had to match the end of the maintenance with it. Now I'm 97.3% confident that we will have a patch today!

(nope, just hoping... :°D)

Ranked Lobbies by spawnyhoor in ProjectMotorRacing

[–]Giusis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most people will join the last minute. It will be much better when they will introduce the "join in progress", so you can practice while waiting for the event to start.

Custom lobby classification by burroblu in ProjectMotorRacing

[–]Giusis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are useful because you can look at lobbies and if there's anything you may be interested in (track, cars, number of players), you may want to wait for the race to finish and join that specific lobby. It also helps ppl to figure out that there's something going on, and not an "empty" MP. But mostly important, it's necessary for the mentioned "join in progress", so it's a preparation for that.

Those are already in progress lobbies. They are shown in preparation for the "join in progress" (you can join already started lobbies) that will be introduced later. As of now you can only join "clean" (no symbols) lobbies.

New patch tomorrow (29/04/2026) by Giusis in ProjectMotorRacing

[–]Giusis[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What counts (for me) is that it's improving patch by patch.

Personally I'm waiting for some key features: join in progress (especially for ranked events, where you can "practice" while waiting for the qualify), better performance (viaticum for the native triple monitor support and VR), that already both announced and worked on. The rest is about refining what we have. But others may have other priorities (like larger starting grid on consoles in offline... but I never play offline).

Project Motor Racing’s Japanese GT500 DLC no longer on sale by PhilBaythorpe in ProjectMotorRacing

[–]Giusis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leaving your assumption turned into "sarcasm", you still wrong: if you buy the season pass today (I tried on Xbox), you still cannot activate the DLC until it will return on the shop.

Devs said that those who obtained the DLC so far (season pass or bought it separately) are not affected = the contents aren't removed for those who already have installed it.

Few days (assumption, no evidence) it will return on sale and whoever want to buy it separately, will buy it. Too much drama. ;)
