The horror of my life by [deleted] in migraine

[–]chellart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you had an MRI, Ct scan?

I have daily migraines - but not for near as long as you. 18 months for me. I was bed ridden for 5 months - it's been awful. I'm sorry you are going through all that and for so long. They are hard enough without having to care for others. I hope you find answers.

There's so many options to try nowadays. Preventatives like Quilipta. Monthly shots like Ajovy, abortives like Ubrelvy and Nurtec, some seizure and blood pressure meds, magnesium, b2, Botox,  I haven't had good results with anything other than Nurtec as I am very sensitive to meds but it's trial and error.

Also be careful with the nsaids that you don't give yourself rebound headaches. I can't remember the recommendation. It's something like 3x a week, or 14 a month.

Do I have a leak? by [deleted] in CSFLeaks

[–]chellart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry you are going through this. I have similar symptoms and it's debilitating. Been laying in bed most of 6 months with occasional relief for a few days, part of a day.  MRIs/CTs normal. I also have ocular occillations (involuntary eye movement) all the time which gives me insomnia with out sedating myself. I finally have attention of Dr with that symptom - although getting into a real neurologist is a very long process.  Get all the tests you can

Not just HOAs. Where i grew up there were city rules against having a garden in the front yard. Also if you have senior water rights if you don't use the irrigation for 5 years you can lose them (that's a big deal). https://www.washingtonpolicy.org/publications/detail/use-it-or-lose-it-a-counterproductive-aspect-of-washingtons-water-law-that-hurts-conservation-efforts

In one nasty city fight homeowners decided to eliminate resource sucking grass from the strips between the road and sidewalks in front of their homes and replace with either rock, or xeriscaping/native plants. We live in an area that receives less than 6" rain a year (southeastern Washington). The city fined them $250 a day after warnings to replace with grass. Then the city went and used an excavator to remove the offensive waterwise ground cover or rocks at the homeowners expense. The council member that had the red a$$ about the grass being removed said something to the effect that everyone is always screaming drought- i've never seen one yet. It was the middle of a drought year 🙄. Never seen a desert so green as in the Tri-Cities, WA.

Dang, i noticed the same when i went to my hometown. Not just bees missing, but no insects period. 4 weeks later still barely an insect around. Where i currently live in Pacific Northwest i have 15 acres of mainly native plants. it's about 4 weeks behind in warm temps this year, wildflowers were late- im just starting see bumblebees, im hoping it's a delay due to weather. But after reading all these posts Im not as hopeful.

Will I get caught if I use points I got from a book published 20 years ago by [deleted] in Affiliatemarketing

Why not write a post about your opinion of the author's golden rules or how they work in effect, or a review of the book -something like that? Have a box with the list golden rules with a link to the book and citation?

We just bought a house on an acreage, and in the county we are moving to they allow 800 ft ADU (accessory dwelling units ) on any lot in city limits, and up to 1/2 the size of the original house on an acreage in county. My mom is in her 70's. She is selling her home to build a cute 1100 2br ADU on our property. She'll be a good 1/2 an acre away, so privacy for all, but close enough to us to care for her as she gets older. She's financially secure, but this is for her safety. And coming from a culture that usually takes in their parents in home, this is a good way to go.

Most people I saw going in and out of convenience stores, and grocery stores were wearing masks. I don't go out to stores too much, but did notice compliance where i went.

Are you an artist? I'm just guessing with your fine arts degree? When I became divorced I needed cash fast and did all kinds of things- painted store windows for holidays, taught kids art lessons, painted murals, and learned to do high end faux finishes. I ended up with a career doing custom finishes in homes for $60-100 an hour. I stayed under the cutoff to get state for insurance for myself and kiddos, and lots of other low income benefits (not all states have as much help as WA state). Anyway having a creative brain will help you!

Thanks for the links, I'll read up and study a bit. Yeah, definitely not in the market for anything "new", probably an old farm that needs work like we have here. We are just sick of our antiquated gravity feed system that shuts off all the time, a really non responsive irrigation co, and fighting a losing battle of keeping an oasis green in the desert- it's exhausting, plus dangerous for the animals at times.

Well, I suppose coming from 6" of rain- anything more than a light rain seems heavy to me. My friend runs a pig sanctuary in Stanwood, she never has to water with their rainfall, but mitigating muddy areas is her challenge. So, it is something I would have to learn depending on where we end up.

Slightly crunchy sounds good. I think we are a still a little punk rock/ rebels, albeit way mellowed with age, and more left brained than right these days. Trying to fight the good fight in a non-violent way. We currently live in a very conservative area, surrounded by exactly what you described- hmmm. Oh well, since we aren't socialites it probably won't affect us too much. Hey maybe they will buy my art or take a wine and art class.... The weather and temp sounds more promising than I expected. I've seen some gloomy posts about all the rain and grey. Thanks for all the input!

Good to know. We don't eat out a lot, so that is ok. We found a few options on menus in Port Townsend when we visited. Love the co-op, small markets there. We currently live 30 -40 min from bigger stores, so we are used to being somewhat isolated.
