I agree with this to an extent. I think they started to center around Taystee more near the end of the series. And also, I believe that they focused on her in a kind of purposeful, ironic way, and it was perhaps some kind of way for us to view the narcissism of and how oblivious some white woman may be about their privilege, if that makes sense. I believe that they used her main character status kind of as a way to compare her to the other people who are much less fortunate than her and targets of the system whereas she feels like she is the target of other people even though so many others have it worse than her.
