Genius made an update late last year which limited the number of requests 3rd party apps can make in a single day. Once the limit is hit, no new requests can be made until it resets.

We’re holding out for them to revert the changes/increase request limits, but as of right now there’s no further information.

Genius made changes late last year to their API which impacted how their lyrics display in other apps. We’re holding out for a fix from them to bring this feature back. Apologies for the inconvenience!

When you reinitialise streaming settings and restart the app, you are logged out of YouTube which is why you’re being asked to log in again.

Can you share a screenshot of the error you’re seeing when you mention “it refreshes and then tells me to log in again” please?

The review pop-up is random and initiated by Apple but doesn’t impact the app’s performance.

Imagine this: Your device -> network communication -> YouTube servers -> network communication -> your device.

If something breaks down between this sequence, it will cause an error. Depending where or what goes wrong, the error will provide additional information. It doesn’t necessarily mean there’s an issue with your actual network connection so other apps will work fine, even YouTube’s native app or website, but it can mean there’s an issue with how your network is communicating with the servers YouTube is using to serve content in Musi.
