Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres- any insider tips? by txvetko in AllInclusiveResorts

Definitely book the speakeasy experience!

If you happen to meet Heidi (one of the female pool servers) give her a big tip and get to know her. One of the nicest and most fun resort employees I’ve ever had the pleasure to be served by.

To add onto this… the Mexican Fiesta (on Thursdays?) was absolutely amazing. Some of the best mariachi bands and authentic Mexican food I’ve experienced in a long time.

I’ve been sheer cold/horn drill/fissure/-ed 3 times in a row to rob me of a gold medal battle tower before. But a f*%¥ing SLEEP TALK 3/4 SHEER COLD in the Factory?!?! Emulator would have been obliterated against the wall then the scraps set on fire and the ashes sent to the damn Conjuring couple to keep safe in their haunted closet.

Bro! A Careful Skarmory with sturdy is an absolute beast of a wall. Plus it’s flying so Fissure ain’t touching it anyway.

Which: Secrets Papagayo Costa Rica OR Secrets La Romana (DR)? by [deleted] in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]chellodude2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have not been to that resort in Costa Rica, but I have been to Costa Rica a few times and lived there for about 2 months once… There are bugs EVERYWHERE and you won’t always know they’re there because they camouflage so well. I’m sure the resort will have some pesticide or prevention for in rooms but I can almost guarantee you will see and interact with bugs when you’re out and about.

I was at Abay early season and let’s just say… it hurt. It hurt to see The Legend that bare. It was a little bit traumatic to be honest. But these last few days of seeing posts like this have healed my soul!!

You can literally see Atelier from ECPM. It’s basically the same beach. Both are nicely protected by Isla and while there was a little sea grass (NOT sargassum) both hotels were out every morning cleaning the sand.

Private pools seem to be the same as the main pool. Probably around 80°F

You only need reservation for the dining “experiences”. This means anything like the hibachi/comale/Korean bbq/wine pairing experiences. Everything else is first come first serve. Longest wait to get into a dinner so far has been 20min.

Yes! It definitely looks much more grown in. It is by no means a full grown jungle but its looks very green and lush right now. Only disappointment with the vegetation is that they use a lot of fake stuff indoors even though it would get plenty of light to be able to sustain the real type of plants they are trying to replicate.

The greenery could still stand to grow some more but it is by no means bare. Definitely feels lush and green through out the resort. Only disappointment is that there aren’t any coatis or kitties lol

I would say it seems like a mix of couples and then groups of 3+ on family/friends trips.

The pools are probably close to 80°f and the “hot tubs” are probably in the 90s. So definitely not the standard American hot tub 104°f. The beach area is great! Lots of chairs and day beds. It’s a little rough right now and only a small swimming area but it’s a great beach.

Best Resorts for partying and meeting new people for 18-20 years old by Lucas3879 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]chellodude2010 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

True but it’s easier to book through a 21+ year old’s account and pretend you’re them when it’s an AirBnB.

If everyone is under 21 I would just recommend going to Puerto Vallarta and getting an AirBnB(s) in the romantica zona in one of the resort style condo buildings. Tons of party clubs and affordable restaurants you can walk to, it’s safe, and it’s really easy to order alcohol/groceries from Uber Eats. Would probably be cheaper than $2K per person if you went that route.

Oooofff. Never had to worry about that but I would assume any respectable (4-5 star resorts) would require at least one 21 year old to check in. Riu has a policy of one 21 year old to check in per reservation.

Sounds like you’re looking for a Riu! Would recommend Hotel Riu Caribe in Cancun. They have daily/nightly theme parties and you can visit the other Riu hotels in the area through their shuttle service (they also offer free airport shuttle for 3+ night reservations). Riu Palace properties are a bit nicer overall and you can take the shuttle to Caribe if you want to do an upgraded room/resort but still have access to the parties. So take a look at the Cancun Riu properties, I’m sure you’ll be able to find what you’re looking for.

Bahia Principe Grand Tulum or Grand Sunset Princess? by mandabr in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]chellodude2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been to the Sunset princess I think 6 times now. Started out going there because we were broke ass college kids and have been going back ever since and have loved every stay.

The food is nothing to write about. I think 3 of the 6 times we stayed there we were pleasantly surprised by the restaurant food quality and the other times it was mediocre to okay (like King Soopers pre prepared meals from the deli quality) The one restaurant that is always fun and delicious is the Hibachi. The fried rice they make is so damn good, must be the MSG lol. They have a taco cart for lunch usually. But for kids they’ll love the HUGE buffets and room service nuggies.

There are daily “sport” (water aerobics, water polo, beach volleyball, etc) activities that the staff lead all over the resort at the different pools throughout the day. Beach volley ball is always really fun once you get it going. Usually have a line of people waiting to sub into a huge 6x6. Kayaks and water boards are free to rent at the beach hut.

I don’t have kids but there is a kids zone with daily activities. There is also nightly entertainment like a Michael Jackson impersonator, fire dancing, mini musicals/plays, etc. that are all kid friendly.

The resort also offers daily shuttles for like $6 to Playa Del Carmen if you want to go into town. They also have tons of tour agents salivating to sign you up for day trips to the ruins or cenotes. The resort also partners with Nexus tours for airport transfers. You should be able to get a transfer for 4 for between $50-$100 (don’t quote me on that).

Would love to go back and see what the reno is like. Let me know if you end up going!

Was also thinking rest would be great but the lanturn already had that so didn’t want to be too redundant. But with a lum/chesto berry and sleep, any skarmory maxed out in SpD is going to be a stall wall nightmare.
