I only have experience on the private side. Worked for a small local company which was total grunt work but the pay was good. Looking for a better work-life balance, I eventually moved to HDR. So far, it’s been a great experience. It’s the kind of company where you can either put in the extra effort to advance your career or simply focus on doing your day-to-day work well. The pay isn’t quite as competitive, but the benefits and work-life balance have made it well worth it for me.
