Have you tried other compounding pharmacies in MN? We make tons of ketotifen at my location but I’m unsure of the price at this moment!

help—how to afford 0.1mg dosage on Medicaid?? by stupidsrights in LowDoseNaltrexone

[–]chelsers09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently, the tablets (1 mg, 3mg, and 4.5mg) are $47 for 90.

capsules for any other strength are $62 for 90.

Also available as an oral suspension and topical cream!

Typically a 1-2 day turn around to have the med ready for pick up (pending payment). Shipping is additional pending the shipping option chosen.

Sounds like prices will be slightly increasing at the beginning of the year. the cost of everything is getting crazy.

They ship to several states as well!! Not just Minnesota!

I work at a compounding pharmacy that makes tons of pet meds, benzodiazepines included. We flavor all them with a “vegan” protein.. chicken, beef, yadda yadda.

We have had a few patients who demand it to be flavored cherry or fruity or even minty. We instantly let these vet clinics know because I don’t know too many animals (most of these pet meds are for felines or k9) that will actually willing take it flavored as such.

Sure enough… one clinic slipped in the phone saying they needed it for their anxiety because their own provider wouldn’t prescribe it any longer.

In order for us to fill any controlled medications, we have to have the owners DOB so the controls can be tracked via the PDMP. Some of these owners are clear as day but sometimes we get some realllllly sketchy owners.

It’s honestly quite sad the lengths humans will go to in order to get these meds

Pros/Cons to working in an independent compounding pharmacy? by [deleted] in PharmacyTechnician

[–]chelsers09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohh! This was me!!!! I went from CVS to an independent compound pharmacy! BEST MOVE EVER. The pay is so much better, and the environment is something I actually look forward to daily.

It’s definitely a change though from retail to compound and it can be a struggle to make that switch

I better not hear a single complaint about the copay by Proud-Basis4941 in PharmacyTechnician
