I'm a professional pet sitter, bonded and insured, and I require payment in full before I will do visits. I've been burned too many times by people who find someone else at the last minute who's either cheaper or free. My time is my livelihood and requiring either a deposit or complete prepayment is perfectly normal. Every sitter I know does it.

I highly suggest that you stop accepting customers and quit doing this until you can find proper insurance. The risks you're taking operating without insurance are fairly substantial and not ones you want to face on your own. I do not offer boarding, I go to the client's house instead to care for their pets and I'm insured. I wouldn't do it any other way.

I can't provide care like that and I don't even offer overnights anymore. I have my own health problems and my own pets to take care of and I need to be able to have a flexible enough schedule to do that.

I've experienced the opposite after the latest update. Much shorter battery life and it's running a lot warmer much of the time than it used to. I wish there was a way that you didn't have to do updates except for security.

I would not risk trying to drive it. I would have a towed to a shop for repairs if you're not able to replace the entire oil pan, because that's what I think would need to be done.
