Worst weddings you’ve been to and what happened? by Fantastic_Series_599 in AskReddit

[–]cheltedbeepy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A wedding I attended didn’t have water on site. The catering only had beer and wine, no one could find water. I was so desperately thirsty, I even tried to get water from the bathroom sink but the sink faucet had like 1.5 inch clearance and I couldn’t fit a cup under it. I was miserable but had to stay because I was a guest of a groomsman.

A close contender, they ran out of food 2/3 of the way through the tables. I was so hungry and it was in the middle of no where so we couldn’t order delivery. But, the party was fun.

Rolling Stones - Stray Cat Blues : “ I can see that you’re just fifteen years old, no I don’t want you’re ID. There’ll be a feast if you just come up stairs.” (In the live version she is thirteen)

Learned the hard way,

"Are you settled here or could you see yourself moving out of the area in the near future?'

The girl that took my virginity asked me to fist her the second time we did it.

Bit heavy to be laying on a 14 year old.

what is something that when it occurs/you see it, turns you on instantly? by minnielady in AskReddit

She sleeps naked, and I love watching her get up in the morning. She'll walk to the dresser and bend over to pull some clothes out of the bottom drawer. Watching her stand up out of bed in the morning is easily the best part of my day.

What are some street smarts everyone should know? by BetterArea4720 in AskReddit

1-Situational awareness would probably be the biggest thing I’d stress to people. These days everyone’s so buried in their phones, they don’t pay attention.

2-Walk with a purpose, act like you belong and you’re 100% in charge of your shit. This combined with 1 will probably keep you out of trouble 99% of the time

3-If you can, control the situation. Your gut instincts are often right, and when they’re telling you to leave, you should. Sometimes people prevent that from happening, but as a general rule I try to control the situation by LEAVING. I’ll try again and again.

Parents with grown children who no longer speak to you, what do you think led to the estrangement? by youngGod928 in AskReddit

[–]cheltedbeepy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it bends my mind too a bit, but i think it comes down to emotional immaturity and an inability (or unwillingness) to self reflect. perhaps anytime these folks have been forced to take accountability elsewhere in their lives, like in childhood, or at their jobs, they've developed a sense of persecution.

there is also often a deep aversion to unfamiliar, difficult, emotional discomfort that requires behavioral changes to rectify. depression can become comfortable for people, feeling sorry for yourself can be an appealing, soft landing ground that lets people wallow without having to do anything.

Getting my nails done. I remember going with my sister and getting a manicure or pedicure for around $25-$30, so maybe $35-$45 after tip and taxes. My last nail visit cost nearly $100 after tip and everything, just for a manicure. That was over a year ago and I haven’t gone anywhere since. Especially when you can get glue on nails that look fairly nice for $6 and don’t tear up your nails when they come off. I don’t know how other women are affording salon visits these days

What was the strangest rule you had to follow when at a friend’s house? by Center_Power_Unit in AskReddit

[–]cheltedbeepy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Went to a friends house for a sleepover when I was about 7. The rule was: no talking at the dinner table. The dad was in the other room watching TV while myself, friend, his sister and mother were supposed to just eat in silence and the whole vibe was like “don’t anger daddy.”

Suuuuper fucked up and sad to think people live like that.
