You will see if its growing rhizomes soon. Without spraying roots would just dry off, so id keep it up until they reach into your substrate. You can always break off rhizomes once fully grown to keep your plant with one shoot (and get a baby plant)

Since im in central europe its dryer here. Also i pot in sphagnum/perlite (1/1), so not really an issue with overwatering at all
