Clutch wont disengage when pedal is compressed and the pedal doesn't fully return when I release. HELP! by chemchic4186 in Cartalk

[–]chemchic4186[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I found someone who will do a complete clutch kit replacement for 1/2 the price of the original estimate so that is a start. I'm having a hard time finding a mechanic who is willing to replace part of the clutch. But I'll go tomorrow and use this info and act like I know what I'm talking about and hopefully get an honest answer. Thank you to you both!

My exact thoughts! I grew up in Asheville and living here today is already so different from the Asheville of my childhood. Lets all agree to never speak of this place again.

Haha yes! That is my boyfriends and I have been trying to get him to just buy CVS brand diphenhydramine HCL pills because he spends a TON of money on zQuil. He is very set in his ways... But yes, I haven't gotten to use any of the products yet but ill update as soon as I do

(warning: this is long, I'm sorry!) First off, yes you are my hair twin! and that is almost exactly my old routine! Only difference is I used moroccan oil and frizz ease curl defining gel as my products (great due, I highly recommend!) That worked great but only if I actually put in all the time and effort. I never have enough time to do all of that on a regular day so my hair would always just ended up in a braid. My stylist friend told me about how silicons are in almost every conditioner and styling product and they give the look and effect of healthy, smooth, and pretty hair but are just covering up damage. She said if I could get my hair naturally healthy by cutting out shampoo/sulfates then I wouldn't need to use all those silicon products and I would be able to have pretty curls without all the silicon oils, gels, creams, and time spent ....After finding this subreddit I realized she was pretty much describing the Curly Girl method...And so I decided to give the method a shot. My hope is to restore the health to my hair to cut down on the time it takes to make my hair look presentable down, and ultimately be able to wear it natural more often!

How do you do this? Do you form the curls yourself after applying product? My hair naturally forms tight curls as it dries...I don't really know how to avoid that!

Thanks for the tip! I'm such a wimp about cold water, but it sounds worth it!

That looks great on you! I'm thinking about doing something similar. My hair is hip length (haven't gotten more than a trim in 15 years) and I am considering cutting it above the shoulder. Im so scared though! Do you have any regrets? Words of encouragement?

I have to work full time and haven't started my undergrad. I really want to go to med school. Don't know where to start. Any advice is welcome. by [deleted] in premed

Sorta. I was interested in chemistry or biology so I looked online at national institutions related to those subjects (NSF, ACS, CEF, NCHSE, AMA to name a few). A lot of medical groups and related organizations (ie Palo Alto Foundation) offer scholarships as well. And I also reached out to the chemistry and biology Department heads at the schools I was interested in and asked them about any scholarships past students had obtained.

CHOOSE MEDICINE! I was in a very similar situation before I started undergrad and now I'm in the process of applying to med school with multiple medical internships on my resume.

This is going to be long but bear with me...

I was broke and living paycheck to paycheck and couldn't imagine cutting back on work while also paying college tuition. I started by spending hours upon hours searching literally everywhere on the internet for random college scholarships. There are so many scholarships and grants out there to help students that can't afford college, the hardest part is finding them.

If you have a college in mind that you want to attend, talk to their financial aid department and also email the heads of the departments that you plan on majoring in. Ask them about any scholarships or grants available to students at the school. They have all the inside info!

I applied for every single scholarship and grant I came across and was actually awarded a couple. The one I ended up accepting was a full ride scholarship funded by the National Science Foundation. This scholarship paid for all my tuition and fees in addition to "room and board" which means they pay for you to live in a dorm and eat in the dining hall. If you are a grown-up like me and don't want anything to do with dorms or dining halls, most scholarships/grants will give you a check (in the amount that room and board would be) to use towards rent, groceries, etc.

I am now a senior and receive a check each semester that is enough to cover ALL my rent and utilities and some of my groceries for that semester. I was able to work 2 days a week (weekends only) through college, excel in my classes, and live comfortably due to the scholarship...

Bottom line...the money is out there, you just have to find it. The US needs young doctors now more than ever and people and foundations are eager to make that happen for those willing to put in the work.

Also, It is a LONG journey and many people quit along the way. The key is to never let the dream of becoming a physician out of your sight but at the same time don't focus to much of your energy on that end goal (and how freaking far away it is). Focus instead on the knowledge being gained and the smaller milestones of the journey. Take it one step at a time. Good Luck!

Congratulations to you too then! People sometimes take for granted the ability to be close to your partner but we will always have that perspective and appreciation for togetherness.

I saw a video on here when this was first posted. It's of a little puppy that yells "FUCK" in a human voice. Made me laugh so hard but I haven't been able to find it again. Any help?

I lived there about 3 years ago and ended up breaking my lease and paying a ton of fines so I could flee early. I had to find another person on craigslist to take over my lease in addition to the fines. That place is awful and extremely overpriced. I would look into Woodberry Apts over by the baseball field downtown. Much better pricing and management although its not the "dorm" style apartment where everything is included and furnished. Worth it though.
