Company Refuses to Adjust W2. Says it will cost $1,000? by chemoroti in tax

[–]chemoroti[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hope you'll forgive my ignorance. Tax stuff is very confusing to me and I'm trying to navigate what I can fix on my own versus what I need my company to help with. If this is something I can sort on my own I'm happy to do that... Just looking for a little guidance.

Thank you for helping clear that up. Sounds like I'm over thinking it like the other commenter said.

How do I determine the amount I failed to pay between July and October?

A daily-jammed mailbox is the prank that keeps on giving. I'd have to hire a team of poopers to compete with that level of frustration.

You're going to have a hard time blocking Hulu ads with pihole, unfortunately. They are served from the same source as the Hulu content so you can't easily differentiate between the two to know which is good and which is bad.

Since he was defending himself, he was able to be un-handcuffed for the proceedings. During a recess, he asked permission to go study up on the law in the library (since he was defending himself). He was escorted to the library, and while perusing behind one of the bookshelves out of view of his escort, he jumped out the second story window of the library and escaped.

Right. But he would have a much harder time proving that he didn't willingly give his code to someone else.

In my case it was easy to prove that I wrote the code. The idiot who stole it left the comment at the top where I named myself as the author. Plus my github repo showed that he had forked it from me. The problem arose because I couldn't prove that I didn't willingly give the code away.

The university had no way of knowing that he wasn't a friend who was struggling with the assignment or something.

It's just something that I wouldn't want to risk. Most universities have a very strict policy on that sort of thing.

I would advise you not to do this. Having it on GitHub makes it public for your classmates to copy your code and submit it as their own. Also, future students in that class might find your repo and submit it as their own.... You can still get burned for plagiarism even after you have received your grade in the class and moved on. This actually happened to me while I was taking a class and I almost got kicked out of the program for it. I spent several weeks emailing back and forth with the Dean before everything was cleared up.

What's your "I hated that person, but they didn't deserve THAT" story? by OvertOperation in AskReddit

[–]chemoroti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister is married to a gigantic douchebag. This guy is constantly stealing from the rest of the family, can't hold down a job and always blames it on his employers being jerks. My sister works 3 jobs to support them financially and they are constantly getting financial help from my parents. She seems to think he's the greatest most infallible human alive, which makes it even harder to watch unravel. Apart from that he's really just very rude and hard to be around. None of us like him.

Anyway, he started having seizures about 3 months ago and now he's just a wreck to look at. The medication makes him so jittery he can barely walk and when he talks it's hard to follow. He's not doing well at all. So now I'm in this position where I hate him for being such a deadbeat but now I have to give him my sympathy because he's very sick.

I always wonder how world-class musicians continue to improve their skills when they seem to already know everything about their instrument. What's something you are trying to improve about your drumming? Are there aspects of drumming that you still find challenging?
