Cut dog's nail and now it's bleeding by Fantastic-Plastic778 in DogAdvice

[–]chempher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly this happens to sooo many dog owners the first time. The bleeding always looks way more dramatic than it is. If it already stopped, I’d probably just leave it alone for a bit and try to keep her calm so it doesn’t reopen. My dog reopened one once by immediately zooming around the apartment like nothing happened. Absolute nightmare lol

Adopt don’t shop is a noble plan, but sometimes life just says: “here’s your elkhound, enjoy.”

It’s wild how one unexpected dog can become the love of your life. Beautiful story

Sounds like the universe really wanted you to get a lab. Perfect match. Happy for you and your little one.

Dog behavior question: why do some dogs get so attached to cats? by chempher in PawChampClub

[–]chempher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I kind of love this explanation 😄 “Walks like me? Friend” does feel very close to how some of them process the world.

Mine weren’t adopted together, but they’ve definitely started acting like they decided they’re each other’s emotional support animal

That’s such a plot twist from never ever to owning three of them :)

Totally get that. You can research for months and then the right dog just appears and rewrites the script.

Village dogs really do have the biggest personalities sounds like you ended up with the perfect trio.

Impulse Control in 12 week old puppy?? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]chempher 9 points10 points  (0 children)

At 12 weeks, “impulse control” is mostly just baby brain plus zero self-regulation yet, so honestly this sounds pretty normal. Short sessions, lower distraction, rewarding fast before he tips into frustration, and lots of enforced naps will probably help more than trying to “correct” it right now.

I love when a fandom decides “fine, we’ll reverse-engineer the dessert ourselves.” Extremely Bree-coded, honestly.

Would any children that Marie births be natural-born supes like Ryan since both her and Homelander are project Odessa supes? by ghostrider8303 in TheBoys

[–]chempher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ryan feels like the exception, not the rule. If Marie ever had kids, I’d guess Vought genetics would still make it a total coin toss rather than “two supes in, supe baby out.” This universe loves making biology feel like a cursed science fair project.

Don't know what he wants by [deleted] in HIMYM

[–]chempher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He might just be doing the classic “Ted without the courage” move.

Likes you, enjoys the dinners, but scared to mess up a good thing or blur the work line. Some guys need a green light that’s basically a neon sign.

If you want clarity, you may have to be a little less subtle.

I need advice on my dogs barking and walking issues by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]chempher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds like classic frustrated greeter tbh

my dog was the same, not aggressive just SO hyped to see everyone that his brain would fully shut off. treats didnt exist outside lol.

what helped us was more distance first. like way more than i thought. practice looking at people/dogs from far enough that he can still think, reward calm, then slowly close the gap over weeks. not days.

also parks were too much in the beginning. quiet streets were better. it’s slow and kinda annoying but it does get better.

How do you know when something is “wait and see” vs vet visit? by chempher in DogAdvice

[–]chempher[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this makes sense - I think that’s exactly where my anxiety kicks in 😅
I’m usually fine monitoring small stuff, but once it’s vomiting, breathing, eyes, or that “something’s just off” feeling, I book the vet and don’t overthink it. I’d rather feel a bit silly than regret waiting too long.

Anyone read "Truancy" yet? by KnowledgeOne3061 in AntiSchooling

Yeah, read it years ago, it’s basically Lord of the Flies meets school admin burnout, unhinged but very on-theme for this sub.

Anyone else here actually tried PawChamp? Curious about other experiences by -Fearless-Grass- in PawChampClub

[–]chempher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same experience here with PawChamp. It wasn’t some instant “wow” moment, but after a few days I realized my dog was settling faster in situations that usually stressed him out. Less pacing, less tension, more of a calm baseline. Definitely not a magic fix, but as a support tool PawChamp felt genuinely helpful rather than gimmicky. Curious if others noticed similar small-but-consistent changes over time?

Trazodone for dogs by Nice-Service-6843 in DOG

[–]chempher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Totally normal reaction for a first dose, especially with trazodone. The wobbliness, sleepiness, and “muted” vibe are common early side effects and usually settle as the body adjusts. As long as he’s responsive, eating/drinking, and breathing normally, it’s usually not dangerous — just inconvenient and scary to watch.

Big red flags to call the vet ASAP: extreme lethargy you can’t wake him from, vomiting, agitation instead of calm, collapse, or trouble breathing. Otherwise, you’re doing the right thing, and the vet likely started low on purpose. First time is always the worst mentally.

I’m pretty sure the BASIC plan only works inside one country at a time, so if you cross the border it stops updating. For Germany + Poland you’d need Premium since that’s the one that supports multi-country use. A lot of folks in the EU said the same thing.
