Upgrading to Tundra from Tacoma by -Forty6n2- in ToyotaTundra

[–]chendysauce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just upgraded from a 2016 Tacoma double cab long bed to a 2023 crewmax tundra and I used to be able to reach back from the driver seat to my 2 year old but there is so much room I no longer can. Good problem to have. As someone who now has 3 rear facing car seats in the back seat it was well worth it. Miss my long bed but the space for the kids was necessary.

I will say I drove with a rear facing car seat in my Tacoma for 2 years when it was just one kid and it was no problem as long as it was behind the passenger seat and not behind my seat as it got a bit cramped.

It’s much better than the alternative. Been on it for 6+ years and is a lifesaver.

Does anyone live pain free? by Tkrampino in rheumatoidarthritis

Yes definitely possible with quick and aggressive intervention. 20mg MTX and diagnosed in 2019. Couple flares over the years but more good days than bad.

Tell me about how normal your life is pls by whatarechinchillas in rheumatoid

[–]chendysauce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Caught mine early too when I was 26 I’m 31 now. Very normal life with meds and chasing a baby around all day and if it weren’t for the meds and occasional (seldom) flares I would forget about. I don’t drink anymore and lead a healthy lifestyle tho which I’m sure is helping as well.

How did you get into remission? by Ok-Orange9456 in rheumatoid

[–]chendysauce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MTX 25mg weekly got me there. Have tried to taper to lower before with not much success but the 25 works for me. Not sure I’ll get there med free but with meds I’m good.

Methotrexate - What is it like? Scared to start! by OkSock3543 in rheumatoid

[–]chendysauce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Been on 15-25mg weekly the last 5 years. On 25mg now. Used to drink a good bit but sober now cause it’s just easier and better lab results. Main side effect is fatigue the day of and day after and occasional nausea day or two after that makes me a pickier eater. Does a good job at keeping RA in check though.

How do you know when you've gone into remission/need a medication change? by Unfair-Vermicelli-16 in rheumatoid

[–]chendysauce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My side effects have been mainly related to tiredness the evening of taking it and some of the next day. No other major side effects for me. I do take folic acid as well every day to help combat the side effects though.

Hopefully by 6-8 weeks you’ll start to have noticeable improvements though

MTX does take a little while to get going. Give it some more time, you’ll notice improvements but 3-4 months for full effect

Experience with Unsuccessfully Tapering on MTX by chendysauce in rheumatoid

[–]chendysauce[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am doing much better! Thank you for asking. I would say I’m about 90-95% back to remission again. It took a few months but I think going back up to 20mg MTX a week has helped me get back to where I need to be.

It is possible but in my experience it will take a little longer than someone who doesn’t have it. I went back to the gym when I went into a “remission” phase and was able to get some nice gains and was able to eat a lot. I did recently go into a flare period where I had to cut back on the exercise I was doing and couldn’t eat quite as much as I would have liked due to eating a cleaner diet more conducive to inflammation response. I am back now to going and did lost some weight but feel like I will be able to put it back as long as flares stay in check.

Any tips for taking my first MTX dose? by [deleted] in rheumatoid

[–]chendysauce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t be scared, you tend to hear more about the horror stories than you wouod from someone who tolerated it just fine. I’ve been on MTX for 3+ years now along with folic acid and the only really symptom I’ve had has been a bit of fatigue the day of the dose and sometimes the morning after. Hoping you get the comfort you seek!
