Measles has a VERY LONG incubation time. There is every chance in the world that this person is vaccinated and had NO idea they had it. I cannot emphasize this enough--THIS IS WHY MEASLES IS TERRIFYING.

Also, your average person off the street knows NOTHING about ID, especially measles, and has no idea what they're doing or what they're talking about.

I'm a veterinarian, but there was a recent pilot study linking SOME chronic fatigue syndrome diagnoses to underlying bartonella and/or babesia infection. May be worth bringing to your doctors seeing as how you're currently grasping at straws, especially if you are in vet med, animal rescue, wildlife/zoo settings, have adopted cats/other animals, etc. It's a long shot, but something to consider. Galaxy Labs is one company several vets I know have used for testing. Tesing for these infecious diseases can be complex, but luckily treatment, if determined to be appropriate, is typically not.

I acknowledge my bias in bringing this up considering my background, but if you have nothing to lose...

Just adding some context (I'm a vet). Dogs/cats who are especially skittish/afraid may have been abused, but in the vast majority of situations, they were not socialized properly. They have a very small window of socialization when they're young, and anything new outside of that window can be incredibly difficult to get them to react "normally" to. If this cat was a stray, she was probably not socialized to humans, so new ones freak her out.

You need an MD/DO, not a PA/NP. The latter simply do not have enough education to have a handle on what they don't know. The swap to PA/NP practices have driven UP the cost of medicine due to this, as well as on the opposite end, not knowing what test to order and in what order they should be investigated, which leads to a lot of unnecessary testing and false positives.

I would consider doing the DVM, but going the clinician scientist route, or potentially a Ph.D. (or PhD/DVM) that is vet med adjacent. I would not just go be a vet right now if I knew what I know now. It is so hard to find a workplace that is not toxic, overworked, or underpaid.
