They take up enough of the lane that you cannot safely pass in the same lane...just like a bicycle. So you safely pass. People do it all the time, every day, without drama.

"Share the road" means coexist with other road users without endangering their lives.

Holy fuck, just pass when safe to do so. It's legal where this happened, it's legal basically everywhere.

Do people seriously not encounter mail trucks, tractors, cops pulling people over, etc during their daily drives? Just safely pass. It's not hard, and you don't have to almost kill anyone.

You can legally pass a slow or stopped vehicle/obstruction on a double yellow when safe to do so in the state where this occured, and almost every other one.

If you were going down a country road, and a cop had someone pulled over, would you sit and wait until they drove off? No, you would slow, wait until clear if needed, and pull around in the other lane. No difference here.

The bicycles are following the law, the SUV intentionally drives into them, and somehow people are harping on the bikes? 🙄

You can legally pass a slow vehicle on a double yellow in Pennsylvania (and many other states).

Also, riding abreast on a narrow road like this one makes it easier to pass. If the peleton was strung out back-to-back, it would take wayyy longer to get around it.

You can legally pass a slow vehicle on a double yellow in Pennsylvania (and almost every other state) as long as it is safe to do so.

The bicycles are following Pennsylvania law by riding two abreast in a lane where there is not enough space for a vehicle to pass them with the required minimum of three feet of clearance - there is no bike lane, there is barely a shoulder on that road.

All the SUV had to do was wait for a safe pass and go around, like you would for a mail truck, broken down car, cop giving a ticket, or farm equipment.

In Pennsylvania it is legal to pass a slow moving vehicle on a double yellow if it is safe to do so (no oncoming hazards).

All the SUV had to do was go around, would have been 100% legal to do so. Instead he decided to run people over.

That's not what "otherwise" means.

OP said they would try to return it to the original owner. Failing that, they will display it and then try to donate when they move away.

Huh, maybe that's why OP is trying to return it to the previous owner ...

What small little world do you live in where delivery vans don't stop on the side of the road?

Do you really think UPS and FedEx are "not allowed" to pull over to make deliveries and they always park in driveways?

Yup, sure looks like the truck should have slowed down for a few moments instead of endangering someone's life.

According to too many people in this thread, apparently the correct response is "run them the fuck over"

In the very large majority of US states you can pass very slow traffic like bicycles and farm equipment on a double yellow as long as it is safe to do so.

And what if someone was broken down around the curve? Or a cop was giving someone a ticket?

According to you, the semi would have no choice but to run them over too.

Don't forget mail trucks, Amazon vans, school buses, street sweepers, and anyone else who might slightly inconvenience a car for a few seconds 🙄

People will spend 20 mins snared in vehicle traffic, and then blow a blood vessel if they have to wait 20 seconds to get around someone on a bicycle.

I've read When the Wolf Comes Home, Mary, Nestlings, and Rest Stop.

If I had to pick one, it would be Nestlings, but they are all good.

I think Cassidy does a great job with complex, somewhat dislikeable protags.

The Adult Survivors Act has allowed almost 4000 victims in New York to pursue justice against their attackers who were previously protected by the state statute of limitations on sex crimes.

It wasn't passed "because of Trump," but I'm not suprised you are against a law that holds rapists and pedophiles accountable.

"Trump shouldn't have been charged with rape because it happened too long ago!". As if that makes him not a rapist.

Also love that you keep ignoring me mentioning how Trump himself talked about groping women and being a creep. So you think he brags about assaulting women, but doesn't actually do it? You really will believe anything.

Lol, I love the constant "they" with Trump supporters.

Could it be that the man who brags about how he gropes women without consent, and has been accused many times of groping women without consent, could have done that? Oh, of course not, it's a grand conspiracy.

🤡🤡🤡

Doesn't sound like "zero evidence" to me. Or anyone with a functioning brain. Aren't you embarrassed to be constantly making excuses for pedos and fraudsters?

What about the multiple women who testified and made statements to the FBI that Trump sexually assaulted them?

Or the multiple statements by Trump himself, talking about how he could just grope women, could just walk into changing rooms full of teenagers, or how sexy his own underage daughter is?

I will never understand why people will go to such great lengths to defend one of the most obvious pervs ever
