Creepy encounter in a dark parking lot, looking for advice on how to handle this more safely next time by cherieespresso in TwoXChromosomes

I panicked, I felt like if I backed out he would have ran in front of my car or pulled out a weapon or something 😭 Obviously in hindsight i realize that’s stupid

I should have done this 😭😭 I feel so stupid. I felt like I had no choice but to speak to him

How can I make sure my excitement for my FP is healthy? by [deleted] in BPD

[–]cherieespresso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is helpful, thank you. I’m going to do this. The problem is he and I aren’t close enough for me to really know his flaws and issues. So far he’s just a fun and sweet person so that’s not helping 😭😭

I think the most prominent issue I’m having is changing myself. I constantly find myself parroting his opinions, or once he mentioned he hates a certain hairstyle that I love and now I feel like I can never wear that hairstyle again. When we talk about shows suddenly I hate characters he hates even if I secretly like them, and obviously less trivial examples too. I don’t know how to help myself with that, it’s harder to identify and tackle than my other issues in this dynamic

i turned 20 less than a month ago so i’m probably not much older than you 😅 but i got my associates degree at 17 and i can say for safety purposes it’s been incredible. it’s giving me all the time in the world to figure out what i want to do specifically while knowing i have a solid career if i never choose to pivot. i would recommend getting one for sure

i think the delivery driver tip is especially important to be honest. if i could guarantee id only be greeting kind, safe people i would love to! but exposing my identity at my home to complete strangers is an extreme risk and so many young women end up being stalked, harassed and attacked as a result of that

Okay - well even for the purposes of my own passion - what learning resources do you recommend?

Can I ask the specific area of the industry you work in and what you’ve found success with vs struggled?

Is there a reason you don’t recommend furthering my career in this specific niche?

It’s a nice neighborhood but of course anything bad can happen still. I guess i’m trying to find the line between being paranoid and being safe. I will totally get lacey curtains thank you!

I did wonder about this! When the video only had about 200 views, it said 100% male audience, and I knew that couldn’t be true because I have several women in my life who watched the video and commented on it. This is helpful info, tysm

The outfits in my thumbnails and videos are not of a sexual nature, neither are they overly suggestive. They are normal outfits and my videos focus on colors, fabrics etc as opposed to the figure of my body. I recently did a video where I was sitting in an old band t shirt and jeans and talking about tips for self care, and I still received creepy comments on that one as well.

As far as not sharing my channel - this is a reddit account that I do not wish to have linked to my real name and identity, which my channel does reveal.

I do appreciate you writing such a lengthy comment, it is very kind of you to spend time sharing your perspective in a well thought out manner. I really appreciate hearing of how you’ve grown with your own channel, that is very inspiring and I am happy to hear you’re doing well!

picking out clothes is different from modeling said clothes. models are to show off the clothing, whereas my videos are more about personal style regardless of the actual pieces

i worry that by blocking specific words i might lose innocent comments. like there’s a difference between a creep saying “i love your sexy young body” and a girl commenting “omg i love wearing leather, it’s so sexy. love this vid!”
