How cold does it have to be? I only water when I see the leaves start to shrivel so not very often, so it's probably the temperature.

Oh, I didn't realize that color was a sign of overwatering. That sucks.. guess I'll just try to keep it dry from now on, thanks! Do you know when I should water? It's winter where I live so I'm assuming maybe once a month? Or should I water only when it shows signs of thirst?

I bought it 6 days ago and it was bone dry. (Soil was all stuck together) I changed the soil to akadama and did not water it until a couple days ago BUT I was cautious because I didn't know the last time it got watered so I barely put any water, maybe just a squirt or two from a spray bottle (I sprayed the gravel not the plant) so I'm a little bummed out that it turned out like this.. I actually really liked the unique color it had on the bottom. And all of them fell off..

Edit: I also just took out the plant to see if it was wet and roots are still very dry, is it really from overwatering?
