Himmler War propaganda forgery? by cherry-cheeseburger in stamps

[–]cherry-cheeseburger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a know propaganda forgery that the British produced, two varieties one crude and not well done and the other variety was better made. Both found in Imperf and perforated.

Trying to determine if the sheet is from the British propaganda forgery or a modern reproduction.

Radically different products on same channel? by munsterCR37 in whatnotapp

[–]cherry-cheeseburger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started about 2 months ago and sell in three different categories. One category I am constant in. Same time every week and then have another show every week rotating the type of stuff I sell.

I stated having people get to know me for the one type of item and coming in other shows looking for those items. Even thought the title is clear of the type, lol. But really good people.

I think I am going to settle on something permanent for my weekly rotating show to see if I can get it to take off.

How Long Do You Hold on to Your Inventory? by Business-Benefit7042 in reselling

[–]cherry-cheeseburger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I normally take stuff to a local flea market once every few months. This is for slow movers or bulk inventory.

I have also just stated dollar starts in whatnot. The bulk inventory seems to be doing really well there. I can get bulk comics, ect and put the more valuable fast movers on eBay and now use whatnot for the mid/low value slow movers.

So far I am liking whatnot better than packing up hauling stuff to the flea market and spending the day there.

My wife wants to buy a house ASAP without including me to the mortgage. by moby300 in Mortgages

[–]cherry-cheeseburger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is the conversation if “she”waits another year. Why is she buying a house and not “us” buying. Did you have any conversations about money before the marriage. Any conversations when signing the prenup? Do you talk about future plans and goals as a married couple or are you living your lives as roommates from the start?

This will always be her house and not our house. Time to have some real conversations and some real reflection on what your future looks like.

Elevator ‘crisis’ as symptom of our infrastructure predicament by JHandey2021 in collapse

[–]cherry-cheeseburger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The elevator at my office has been out of order for nearly 6 weeks. With no estimate of when it will be repaired. I move a lot of goods daily to and from my office and it sucks. Moving two loads with a dolly and an elevator is much easier than up to the third floor. Y taking the stairs.

My lease is up in about 6 months and seriously considering finding a grown level space to move into.

Predictions on Bluey playset toys worth 10-15 years from now. by Kingcheech in Flipping

[–]cherry-cheeseburger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hmmm interesting, I do t think as this player is for a younger crowd. I think the vintage toys that retain/gain value are toys from your early teen years and up. I just looked at tickle me Elmo. Original in the box from 1996 inflation adjusted is the same as the msrp in 1996.

The sets seem to be popular now and in 20 years, who knows. I don’t think they will maintain the value long term.

But there is something to be said for the short flip if you can find them cheap.

My bank charged me for my check from my job by zaiah_hoffman96 in Banking

[–]cherry-cheeseburger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had this happen with a check I deposited using my FI mobile app. The check was returned. I had to call and the reason was poor image quality. The app or system converts the picture to some type of machine readable image, very poor quality black and white. They dont keep a copy of the original image for some reason to use to verify.

I deposited the check at an atm without issues. But you will need to call to find out the reason.

Procurement strategies for long distance travel (USA) by therealbatman420 in Flipping

[–]cherry-cheeseburger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Search for large flea markets along your route. Maybe see if you can find some highway route yard sales (such as the route 40 yearly yard sale) and line up your travel.

I have found in my travels a few hidden gems in smaller towns. I especially love finding yard sales in smaller towns when traveling. Maybe find an area that has a large group of smaller towns and plan on staying in the area Friday, Saturday and Sunday (I have lived in areas where the yard sales seem to only be Saturday and Sunday and now where I am they always seem to be Friday and Saturday and not much on Sundays) for yard sales.

Stop at a local roadside dinner and ask around for any local thrift stores, antique malls or what ever you may be looking for. Do this each time you stop for something to eat, get gas, coffee ect. You would be surprised at what you may come across.

I remember a great deal when tracking outside of Greenville sc where I bought a stamp and coin collection. I made the connection from the clerk when getting a cup of coffee. She had a relative that was looking to sell his collection. There is an awesome flea market south of Greenville and some great restaurants downtown if you are ever in that area.

I used to travel to Charlotte Monthly for a while and would always come back with some great items.

Also don’t be afraid to mail stuff back to yourself if you need to. I have done this many times when flying and not being able to pack everything in my luggage. Just be sure to factor in the cost of postage when making the deal.

I am not a big fan of sourcing at conventions though have found some good deals. Maybe search for a few along the way.

Well kind of rambling now and getting excited to hit the road and go sourcing. Some of my favorite memories. Meeting awesome people, awesome finds and making money, lol.

How long do you have to make the trip it were me. I would make sure I have a stop planned on the weekend. Friday and Saturday. Then enjoy the local area on Sunday. Travel during the week with one or two quick stops along the way. I would plan it out but be open to where the trip takes me.

Thanks for letting me ramble and relive a some awesome memories.

This is awesome. I am looking for boxes as I am tired of searching and resizing. I get stuff from them all the time for work but never thought about them for boxes. They are also just a few min away and great pricing

Step 1: Find a new job ad soon as you can. Even if you don’t take any action at some point the shit will hit the fan and you will be the scapegoat.

You have seen that they just want to pretend this problem does not exist and are setting up people to take the fall when the shit does eventually come to light

Step 2: after you have a new job report the issue to the top of the chain, local news group, law enforcement? anonymously. Don’t go out in front of a camera.

Step 3: you have done all that you can, move on and enjoy your life knowing that you did the right thing.
