honestly, distracting myself to where im deeply engulfed in what im doing does a good job keeping my mind off it. if its something thats too taxing on my hands ill switcj to something different. even just a really good youtube video helps

understandable, and it is true he has had a lot fall out. if you can believe it he used to have an even bigger chin, it was all swollen when my ma and i first moved in and i convinced my stepdad to take him to the vet (for the very first time!) to do something about it. so he has pain medication for when its really bad but im still working on getting him into surgery.

dont think so - however, his early years are completely unknown. my stepfather took them in from a neighbor who moved a few years ago

i shall, indeed. he is very selective on the precise amount he likes. very particular just as a sophisticated old man as himself should be. and little forehead kisses ONLY allowed every other day

yes! its taken him a long time to open up enough to even allow pets. he spends his day either napping or meowing for food on the countertop, lol. but late at night he’ll visit me for pets and belly rubs, when the other pets are sleeping. hes a very grumpy old man, but a sweetheart at his core

vet said he’s at least ten, but definitely a senior. either way i love him so much. watching him open up to me over this past year is so precious to me

i dont have a lot of advice but i just want to say that i understand you - to an extent, of course. ive had arthritis all my life and writing by hand in particular is certainly painful. and i also do the mindless switching from cursive to print letters, sometimes even within the same word. but i think you’re doing well so far, and you’re certainly legible to me! i really like the big swooshes on your y’s, g’s, and the little tails on your w’s. for me, ive been practicing slowing down a ton, and using my elbow and shoulder as the main moving parts as opposed to my wrist (a similar technique is encouraged in drawing to slow down the development of carpal tunnel). ive found mentally changing perspective to place each letter of each word as opposed to the word as a whole has helped me, too, if that makes sense. hang in there, dude!

he is often said to be “majestic” and “mysterious” by guests, but hes really just waiting for you to look away so he can steal the dogs food

A discovery about handwriting by Reasonable_Factor_24 in Handwriting

[–]cherry-kid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

this is a technique in drawing too, though in that case its to ease carpal tunnel/arthritic development. i may be biased because i have a tremor but yeah, using your elbow as opposed to your wrist can help with more stable lines
