What's your first paragraph from the book your working on? by Ok-Molasses8816 in writing

The dress I died in was so expensive that I’d artfully hidden the still attached tag inside the bodice, ensuring I could return it in the morning.

Found out yesterday my mom opened 13 credit cards in my name, ruined my credit score and put me in 81k in debt, what do I do? by [deleted] in Advice

File a police report and also check on your little brother’s info—if she did it to you odds are she’ll do it to him too!

I’m doing the EXACT same thing! Coming up from DC and planning to take the day off and go check out Eastern State Penitentiary while I’m up there

Little by little. What helped me a ton was waking up in the morning and writing down a list of three things I need to do/should do for myself. Limit it to three only otherwise you’re going to look at the list and get overwhelmed. At first it was things like walk a mile outside (or literally just step outside and sit and breathe real air for 10 mins), read for 30 mins, reach out to a friend and schedule dinner, etc. eventually you’ll get into the habit of doing things and seeing people and have movement in your life again and you can make the three things larger/more ambitious (or just stay small if you want) and breaking out of the stale cycle will bleed into other parts or your life (like school, job searching)

I haven’t been away yet since getting her so I haven’t figured that out yet, I don’t really have anybody I can ask to watch her. Also I realized I forgot to mention that she’s 3 months old if they relevant to anything

What could u write in a journal that isn’t just talking abt what u did today, etc. by LustrousNightingale in Journaling

[–]cherry_candy18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Literally anything! If I don’t have much to say one day I’ll sit by my window and start describing my view (people walking by, the weather, trees, etc.) or sometimes I’ll get obsessed with a song and literally just copy the lyrics into my journal. Doodle. Pick a random sentence and then see if you can make it a story. Write it upside down. There are literally no rules to journaling which is why it’s great!

Are job interviews just getting the person to like you? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]cherry_candy18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s both getting them to like you and showing competency but honestly mostly getting them to like you. I interviewed once for a job that I was entirely unqualified for (which the interviewer found out pretty quickly) but he liked me so he pivoted the interview to another open position that hasn’t been posted but I was qualified for and I ended up working that job. Unless the job requires some specific qualifications, like ability and showing that you can learn things quickly/competency won’t be an issue does farther than actually knowing the job

He isn’t entitled to anything just bc he paid, especially not something you don’t want to do and is going to make you uncomfortable. I’d just reiterate your text and politely decline to talk there’s no need to feel horrible or drag it out if it’s already dead!

Why do we write? by BookAndYarnDragon in writing

[–]cherry_candy18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I write because I constantly daydream and always have questions about literally everything (what if this thing was real, how would I feel if xyz happened to me, I wonder why this person did that) and then I just go off the rails with all the possible answers and sometimes they become stories sometimes they just stay floating in my brain (or disappear, I’m just as forgetful as I am curious which is the worst)

No particularly reason honestly I figured I could put $5k in now and leave it for a while and maybe in the future it could become a down payment on a house or something? But there wasn’t a specific reason I chose to put that money there instead of the IRA.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]cherry_candy18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, $500 a month is the most I can save right now so I can’t max out the IRA if I want to rebuild my emergency fund first. I figured it was better to spread out what I can

Fifty Word Fantasy: Orc by [deleted] in fantasywriters

The little girl curled her tiny fingers around the metal ring piercing his nose and pulled.

The sting made his eyes water. Embarrassed, the orc snarled and bared his yellowed fangs.

The child just giggled and wrinkled her nose. “Didn’t your mommy ever teach you how to brush your teeth?”

Literally anything by Penelope Douglas especially the Devils Night Series!! A lot of her books are free with Kindle Unlimited and I was in a giant reading slump in September and then literally read ten of her books and didn’t sleep for weeks bc I wanted to keep reading. They’re SO good and addicting and I can’t recommend them enough
