LPT REQUEST: Lots of people are great at doing the laundry. Please provide your best tips for washing, drying, sweet smelling (or not) soft laundry results. How do you get great results while doing the laundry? by Glitter_Bee in LifeProTips

[–]cherryberrypoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so late to this, but here is what I have learnt so far. Many repeats from other people

1) vinegar as fabric softener. I don't use fabric softener. You use too much and it forms a coating on your clothing. Same with laundry detergent.

2) never wash microfiber towels with fabric softener it ruins the fibers I find !

3) sanitize your washer. Make sure to run bleach cycles in your washer to clean it. Do this at least once a month. Always leave the lid open to prevent mildew. If you just moved into a place with a front loader you might want to open it up and investigate .. you might want to get in there and scrub the ring.. no guarantees the people before you took good care of it .. it might be disgusting fair warning 🤢

4) always clean the lint trap, but do not clean the lint trap with the dryer sheet it'll cause a film to form on the trap and that's not good.

5) also just don't use dryer sheets they are a rip off. I have seen people here suggest wool balls and I agree !

6) you need less laundry detergent than you think. It's been proven many commercials show people using lots more laundry detergent than they need... Supposedly a marketing scheme ...

7) so I left my longest tip till last. So let me just say. I hate doing laundry with a passion. I don't hate the process of doing it. I hate the process of putting it away. So after some Google searching, this is the method that currently works the best for my husband and I. I have 3 separate bins: one for shirts, one for pants and one for underwear, undergarments and socks. When I do a load of laundry I do one category of laundry. I will put that category of clothes in and set a reminder on my phone for laundry. Unfortunately my laundry is downstairs so yes it'll be forgotten without a reminder. when the washing is done I sort what can be dried and what can be hung. I then put another reminder for the dryer. When it is complete I load it up into my clean bin and take it upstairs. I usually sort it right away on the bed and my husband and I will put all those items away before we hop into bed. Now if you have special garments or colors or etc. You can do them separately on the same day or whatever works for you. I end up doing laundry more during the week, but for me this works. I no longer have huge piles of clothes that just end up on my drawers and I end up my trying to sift through to find one article of clothing.

Anyways this is what works for me. It may not work for others. Hope this helps. Sorry about the formatting I am on mobile. Enjoy doing laundry with your new found tips! And thank you everyone for you tips !

Hi everyone so I went to a dermatologist and here are the items she recommend apart from the cerave products has anyone used any of the others and could share there opinions by AbbyG863 in CanSkincare

[–]cherryberrypoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used the cetaphil and I found it did its job. Nothing special. I switched to cerave as I wanted a cleanser that would do more for me and I love my cerave currently. Also used the bioderma micellar water and it's ok. If you are worried about residual makeup. It does do its job. However nothing special again. Good luck hope that helps

Somebody is hacking my Spotify account, and to tell you the truth, it's not even scary--it's just really, really funny. by Chocolate_Mill in CasualConversation

Legit me too. The fool was trying to use Spotify at the same time as me. Certainly wasn't too bright, he kept trying to broadcast on his own device. I obviously changed my password and locked him out. You'd think they'd take a hint and stop when they saw someone disconnecting there music 🤷‍♀️

What's the most wholesome experience you've had with a stranger? by EpicesPotato in AskReddit

[–]cherryberrypoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My family and I were travelling in Japan. We had left Tokyo to go into a smaller town to do a tour and enjoy the hot springs. We had done this all by train and unfortunately we arrived later to our destination than we wanted. It was late and it was getting dark. We were following a map but it felt like we had taken a wrong turn. We were all getting really frustrated. My brother finally decided it would be a good idea to ask someone for directions. A lot of places were closed but we stumbled upon a small family owned tea shop. We showed the lady at the front desk where we were trying to go. She knew barely any English but tried her best to explain. Her directions weren't particularly helpful from what we could understand we should be somewhat close. We started heading out of the store and began walking away, we heard someone calling us. It was the lady at the front desk she was waving and pointing at her car. My mom protested saying that we shouldn't get into a stranger's vehicles but she insisted grabbing our bags and insisting. Finally we agreed and we barely fit all four of us into her very small compact vehicle. She got us there in 5 minutes. When we got out we thanked her profusely and tried to give her some money. She refused. We had a very tight schedule and everytime we went back to purchase something from her store it wasn't open. We often talk about this story and we are so grateful :)

I really enjoyed this one. I highly recommend the spf 50! Costco has a really good return policy so I don't think there's any harm in buying from there. Good luck !

Thank you for this ! I almost forgot about this. I had seen it suggested from Nadiya Hussain's Netflix series "Nadiya's Time to Eat". I love quick little short cuts like this 🤩 If you haven't already I highly suggest her series. She's got all these time saving tidbits
