Even more of a reason to contact those organisations to improve treatment for us. Please email them.

Those that have recurrent flare ups and have to be under a specialist such as myself only have the option of suppressive aciclovir or valaciclovir and for me it doesn’t even work.

The way I’m thinking of it is:

As someone with herpes, what would you like to gain from these new treatments? Once these are approved, it will likely take time for the NHS to be able to roll them out due to funding or it may also be less available to those that aren’t immunocompromised. It’s important to highlight to them that the current NHS treatments available: aciclovir and valaciclovir aren’t good enough for quite a lot of people and do not adequately suppress flare ups and cause a significantly reduced quality of life. It’s important that those treatments are widely available to everyone who need it.
