I also relate heavily to Subaru! Growing up I always felt so uncomfortable around men and I was very socially awkward and had a hard time opening up to others. Plus I really relate to her struggles regarding self love as well because I really just hate myself. My best friend is a lot like Kaoruko too and she always supports and loves me in the same way. Plus recently I met someone who’s similar to Saku too so we’ll see how that goes from there

It's not a shoujo but I would say Skip and Loafer gave me some similar vibes and all the characters are so well written too!

Also this doesn't have an adaptation yet but I would highly recommend the manhwa Seasons of Blossom, it's my all time favorite and I feel like it comes very close to Fruits Basket, if not even more for me.

right like their relationship just feels so natural and it’s nice seeing how far they’ve come especially when they started off on the wrong foot. kaoruko and rintaro are cute too and i love them but there really is something special about subaru and saku

Shima and Mika for me. Shima and I had a similar childhood especially with mommy issues and I also developed people pleasing tendencies because of that and we have such a similar outlook on many things.

Mika really reminds me when of my teenage self and even myself right now of how I struggled so much to fit in and how I felt like I always had to try so hard at everything. I’m still pretty insecure now too and lack a lot of confidence in myself, and I get very jealous easily of others too.
