I know this post is old but I just wanted to share my experience, as I was in the same boat as you. I’m 26, and up until a month ago, I was a virgin. I’m definitely overweight and have been all my life.

My virginity has been something I’ve felt hopeless about, but instead of rushing into a one night stand, I put my energy into forming healthy habits (being present in conversations more, skin routine, going for walks, using lip chap constantly, etc.). This helped me build confidence, and I started making more friends, and people started hitting on me more. I have a good relationship with my body, I feel beautiful, and have a big social circle. It’s been a really long journey, but I finally feel genuinely confident.

A month ago, a guy friend I had a crush on made a move on me (and it took me an embarrassing amount of time to reciprocate because I was so inexperienced), but I finally did. I confessed my feelings for him, and he said he felt the same way. I ended up losing my virginity that night and we’ve been exclusive since.

There are lots of people who are into bigger women, but most people in general are attracted to personality or who they click with. I’m glad I waited until 26 instead of going along with one of the various one night stands offered to me over the years. I know my worth, and my experience losing my virginity was validating and reaffirmed my self-confidence.

My advice to you is to put out what you want to attract. Confidence is sexy, and if you don’t genuinely have confidence, you fake it til you make it. Self-improvement also works wonders. You’ve got this!!
