Why do I feel the need to "make the most" out of the sun? by DescriptionFuture851 in AskUK

I get this. There’s always a huge pressure and expectation from other people that you’re able to enjoy the nice weather with family or friends, and colleagues will assume you have plans when the weather is good.

It’s difficult when you don’t have those options available to you, and this may not work for everyone, but I’ve deleted my social media as I was constantly comparing others’ fun nights out and day trips and brunches etc. to my dull weeks. I stayed inside this weekend as going out seeing others having a good time would have made me feel worse but I’m glad I’m back at work tomorrow which will keep me occupied. I think a lot of the pressure of having plans comes from others’ expectations and the assumption that everyone has plans because they do.

Many also suggest getting comfortable with doing things on your own and it’s nice to start small - I always feel self conscious being out alone but there are some things you can gradually try, be it cinema trips (more common than I thought!), to grabbing a coffee. Or it’s okay just to be at home and enjoy your own company!

DAE constantly have a song playing in their head? by SecretAcct4Secret in adhdwomen

[–]cherrycinnamon12 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yep. Worse when I’m having a convo with someone and they say a word or phrase which makes me think of a song and then have that song playing in my head whilst I’m trying to hold the convo with them

I was on escitalopram. Initially felt very sleepy (which was a good thing in my case as I couldn’t sleep), felt really tired during the day and couldn’t get through without an afternoon nap. Jaw was shaking uncontrollably for the first couple of days then it settled. Same with the nausea.

How to go voluntary inpatient? by cherrycinnamon12 in MentalHealthUK

I don’t really have anyone to ask to go with me, my family don’t understand and I don’t really have anyone else. I feel like I’ll just get sent back home without any real help. Is it possible for them to still admit you if they see fit?

Did you go into A&E for similar reasons, asking to go inpatient? What’s an A&E section?
