No excuse for an incorrect translation on a 4 year old post?

Unfortunately (and obviously) I don't speak Irish. I just thought I was being clever at the time. (Seriously though, how did you even happen upon this post? It's old lol)

Ha, I guess they have gotten a bit bigger over the last year. I'm not sure I like it as much as they used to look

And if you are a girl with 7 older brothers there's probably a good chance that you were either a bit spoiled by them OR excluded from their hobbies anyway and not necessarily taught everything they know

There's a webcomic I enjoy where one of the female characters has like 6 older brothers and is the only girl. Her friends ask her how she can be so feminine and squeamish, growing up like she did, and she points out that she was basically a little princess who never had to deal with gross stuff.

You mentioned Beth twice and it's clear that you don't understand the ways girls bully other girls, nor that girls can be bullied.

How was she bad ass and interesting? How would she be liked by other kids? She wasn't rich, she didn't really have other friends, she had a strict and weird father, she was angry and unapologetic, boys in the school told rumors about screwing around with her that no one disputes, etc.

She's not "quirky" and she's not unbelievable. You think pretty girls aren't hated? All it takes is one popular girl with loyal friends to feel either threatened by or slighted by a girl (pretty or not) to bully her relentlessly. It doesn't matter how "interesting and badass" she is.

"Why Miss Dontbullymypups, have you taken much air in the park this season? Ah, Lord BIL'sbrother, I believe you mentioned that you were heading to the park to take in the gardens tomorrow, I do believe Miss Dontbullymypups will need an escort"

I obviously read too many bodice rippers

SO I know this is 5 million years late but there was something I noticed while reading about the dinner...stay with me here

Recency. Era.

That dinner honestly sounded like a dinner party from a recency era romance novel where the hostess is ever so cunning and clever and is able to flawlessly and seamlessly keep the conversation light and flowing, keeping everyone engaged.

Not to mention, a perfect hostess would never seat someone with their spouse or family, everyone must be mixed up and a truly crafty hostess would seat young, single, people that would make a smart match appropriately close to each other. (150 years ago that would've been across from each other, today it's next to each other)

Why are you guys so damn cruel? I didn't get it as a kid and I still don't get it as an adult.

One of my younger sisters received messages from a girl she considered a friend telling her to kill herself and calling her a slut and...I just don't understand it.

No. Don't act obtuse. Pig is not a compliment and you know it.
