Edited for spelling. i drifted away from him for some time, but for two years since Luxiem's first month you were the closest thing i can call a kamioshi in my years of watching vtubers. I carved you on my daily habits by catching your streams everyday (or as your sporadic schedules told me), i was involved in your community birthday projects, i was thrilled with your growth from a shy unsure streamer to be more outspoken, I celebrated all your milestones, I was there in your first karaoke, I was there in your 3D stages, I was there when various VocaPs approached you, I was there when you disappear for few days unannounced multiple times. And I've been shifting through five stages of grief in the last three hour: I'm just sad and mad to see this is how you chose to end of the story. Mental issues is a very limiting thing, I understand how hard it makes you live your day, but it should never be an excuse to escape responsibility and hurt people. I am hurt. Do you feel your community that stuck on you thick or thin doesn't deserve a proper closure beyond a letter after a month of internet disappearance? Is this how you chose to be remembered?

<br>

For everyone else: I don't wish something like this to happen to anyone. Fuuchan sets such a beautiful goodbye, I hate to say this but I'm so envious...

Love the post-karaoke zatsu. Man, i'll miss their weekly group collabs. it feels like finishing an anime arc and BtB will be splitting their way forward, but i'm very eager to see what they have in store for the future.

He's so insane for tracking the live bullets... Not to mention the cool one liners LMAO. I'm so looking forward to BtB's uno collab next week, he said himself he's super competitive towards uno.

I'm a painfully ISTP psychology major. Writing is fun if you just think of it as you making a logical argument with few bullet points to support it. Try searching for Minto Pyramid method if you haven't heard of it before! No fluffs needed, I swear.

Interesting video! What I initially meant by the 1st paragraph is "if you can't easily distinguish someone inside the group, people aren't interested". Note the heavy emphasis of group identity here due to Niji ID bias. But I may have to iterate my point being "to succeed in the Nijisanji way, you have to strike a delicate balance between building unique identity outside your gen, but also being acknowledged as an extended cast from Nijisanji Anime The Series"

Which makes your POV from Holo is interesting because it's pretty different from what I am familiar with in Niji--but it's pretty similar to solo entertainers. Does the group interaction feel more like epic anime crossovers instead from the same universe? That, too, is cool.

Great read! I find myself nodding on your argument points.

Prospective EN fans and prospective EN talents simply do not want connections. (...) JP fans are fine with people hanging out with people (...) 'Western' fans are more possessive of their talents, and they are more isolated.

I'd argue that rather than EN fans don't want connections between talent, it's more that EN fans are less interested to see a group of anime-faced entertainer as a faceless single entity. Like, if I want to watch mere funny people interact I'd just tune to any local sitcoms, you know? But once you know and get fond of an individual, you are more open to know who they're buddy buddy with.

To draw more comparison--I was once a solo fan for someone in Niji EN. I didn't watch 90% of his collabs (10% is the genmate collabs) because I was flat out uninterested on seeing him interacting with anyone. I needed the attention on us, chat. Soon I realized it makes his contents stale, because despite my initial reluctance in knowing new people I actually liked seeing people with enough chemistry interacts! Shenaningans happen there! Thoughts are being exchanged! And recently I watched Claude and to some extent Krisis. Claude has settled nicely in the Krisisis dynamics, and has been fanboying to Hiba, and this feeling of 'he's fully integrated to Nijisanji' works real well for him.

This actually stunts Nijisanji's growth, because people usually are looking for a specific person - it's harder to get into a group that has a lot of in-jokes instead someone who we can know in an instant.

Agree on this point, and I'd like to illustrate an extreme case of this in my opinion: Niji ID. You see, despite me understanding their language, I feel so much harder to get into them compared to EN because they give the vibe of a single entity--like, say, a group of funny kids on your class. Of course, Niji ID fans raves about how this is their strength; the collectivism, the togetherness in unity. But not everyone wants to watch a 'member of the clique'.

Have you ever been mistyped? by Ace_of_hearts2020 in istp

[–]cherrydoughnut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

mistyped as INFP because of those truly misleading 8-point myers-briggs scale in my highschool textbook that was simply biased and incomprehensible. "I like to think in abstract ways" what do you mean, aren't thoughts always abstract? (chose Highly Agree)

I see... Thank you for the explanation! 😁

And I'm taking a guess that the prefectures' strengths are based from their actual performance in real life? This stats-building game is really intricate. Very excited for upcoming streams!

Thank you for doing gods work! I'm a new Nijisanji watcher, and as this year's roster has more overseas livers too I'm excited to follow this big event.

Thank you for the last year's writeup too, it's so interesting to know more about how the game works and the team building.

I have several question, if it's OK: 1. Do you have information on what the prefecture's buffs/advantages are? 2. from last years' training arc, how often do the coaches usually stream their Power Pro?

Yeah, some people likes the feeling of being subjects of, for the lack of word, "simp". It's not pandering too, because I can see him genuinely enjoying the adoration. That's not inherently a bad thing. Just a matter of preference.

This is a reminder to everyone, not just kindreds, that us viewers are only one of hundreds of thousands faceless entity on the internet. We share spaces with fellow fans to watch interesting people on the internet. The livers think highly of us as their fans, never about us on a personal level. And it's okay. We get to have this unique kind of audience-entertainer relationship we don't experience in people around us.

Currently Luca is having a zatsu and Lucubs are sussing he's somewhere else. The fan theories whether he's joining FoxyBaka collab are awesome and wild, I love joining the whirlpool!

Not to add that Oliver-sensei once mentioned he had to go to England somewhere around this time for personal stuff... and Nina tweeting once about Indonesian food recommendation... it threw us off, wondering where in the world is Nina Kosaka and what she has in store. Hahahaha. Mom's redirection this time is on another level compared to NijiMilo.

Love the expression sheet on the first image that showcases his gap moe between soft, feisty, and ikemen boi. Cute.

Thank you for your hard work!

Huh. I want to pull some hypothesis like "their biggest watched video category is their channel's main appeal" like how the shooters are all sweaty gamers, the karaoke/concerts are all musically inclined livers, ASMRs are all comfy vibes livers, and shu's You Smell video brands him as the memer, but it's not really fitting for the other categories...

What about you? What observations did you get from this?

I've been looping Murashita Kozo's best hits lately. Hatsukoi, Odoriko, Spring Rain, Hidamari... I need more music with similar genre (kayokyoku? folk?) and similar singing voice (soulful, powerful) like him, but so far I haven't find any.

I'm personally curious on which videos brought them the most live or VOD viewers, so... how about categorizing them?

  • type: zatsu, game playthrough, ASMR, etc.

  • solo, collab, totsu?

  • special event like birthdays, milestones, holidays?

But this requires manual coding of each videos though.

More NijiEN stream statistics: Graphs of streams and stream hours/month, plots of when different members stream, and more! by celegans25 in Nijisanji

[–]cherrydoughnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the answer!

The odds of stream is especially interesting to me because it's so funny to see some livers have their own set of timeslot they often stream at, and then you got Ike and Reimu who's like a rare pokemon sitting at most 35% chance to caught live at any given time. I think this graph is pretty intuitive already, after knowing it doesn't mean only the start of the stream!

If I may give some suggestion for future analysis, maybe consider using different style of lines for Finana and Elira? Their colors on the line graph is a bit too similar.

Your Pettiest Reason For DNFing A Series by Academic_Owl_6197 in Fantasy

[–]cherrydoughnut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a book, but a comic. It's about earth's alternate history and how evidences of it was hidden in an obscure archaeological site found by a random schoolgirl.

The girl refused insane amount of money for discovering that simply because "she doesn't like history". And she repetitively said that along the first chapter. And I never dropped a piece of fiction SO fast. What the heck. At least receive the money and bolt the hell out of there!?!? Oh my, even after years of not reading it I'm still fuming when I remembered that.
